I'm so glad you were able to see the Northern Lights, even if it was just for a minute. I know you saw them in Alaska, but Scandinavian Aurora can really be so phenomenal. You have to come back and try again! I saw them for the first time in Tromso, Norway and it was like nothing I ever could imagine! And it was so close to not working out too. I had spent 6 nights in Iceland previously and saw absolutely nothing and I was only in Tromso for one night, before flying out of the Northern countries. The tour company with which I had originally booked cancelled on me mid-day. It was meant to be reindeer sledding under the lights, but I was moved to a bus tour instead, which was then cancelled again an hour later! Most of the operators were in the town center so I went into a couple different offices and all but one were closing, saying the lights weren't probable, so they wouldn't operate their tours. Just one small operator said they were taking a few people out by car just in case and they could take me. And after a couple hours of clouds and nothing, finally they parted and we got about an hour of the most vibrant display you can see right overhead. It was the most magical moment of all my travels. You have to come back either to Finland or to Tromso, Norway and try again! Love your videos, as always! So jealous! :)

Looks like you've had fun! That "traditional Finnish house" though isn't really traditionally Finnish. It's a traditional Sámi dwelling, although an actual dwelling would not be built in wood like a cottage. You were in a modern version of it. The Sámi are an indigenous Finno-Ugric people inhabiting Sápmi, which entails the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola peninsula in Russia.

Yeah, to see Northern Lights is cloudless sky and a geomagnetic storm. Sure you could see something green from your eye corner without a geomagnetic storm, but to see a good one, you need it. And you have only about couple of times a year a really strong geomagnetic storm, when you can see the best and the brightest Northern Lights. So, keep eye on the space weather! Sometimes plasma cloud from the Sun can arrive in a day, or even faster, but usually it takes several days.

Hi! Basically i think almost every city have their own places like that. We call those Kota or Laavu or other names (those are names that i normally use and i'm from southern Finland.) I just went to check from google and actually you can find maps where is marked alot of those from all around Finland. But i would say that if you go to Lapland you can find maps where is marked those fireplaces etc in that area. Hard to promise that everything is marked. 😬😄 But hey, you can always ask from people 😊
