Try always to get on rent a motorbike for somedays there in PHILIPPINES everywhere, its very cheaper even u can get it for 200 to 500 pesos per day .... very reliable and fast and economical transportation... no special documentation, just passport and that's all

Shila is incorrect! Intramuros was not a prison during the Spanish time. It was a walled city and the seat of Government during the Spanish colonial period. Jose Rizal our national hero was imprisoned in Fort Santiago part of Intramuros only during his trial for his part in the Philippine revolution against the Spanish rule. He was convicted and executed by firing squad outside Intramuros. During the Japanese occupation in the 2nd World war, Americans and Filipinos captured in the war by the Japanese were imprisoned in Fort Santiago.
