Craig, Please invest in a wireless lapel mic like the Rode Wireless Go. I love your content, but most of the time at these loud auction houses we cannot understand what you were actually saying, because the built-in mic on your camera does not pick you up over the background noise. Almost $300k... That guy paid the full Mecum tax. He could've bought one from a dealer for less. Dealer near me has an F430 Spider, 6 speed with 10k miles for $165k.

Although it pains me to say this, I think a big part of the problem is that here in the U.S., we have so many wealthy people who have pulled their money out of the stock and bond markets and are looking for alternatives. One alternative is collectibles. As a result, this is why Craig is seeing such high prices at Mecum and that most of what sells there will be parked in garages - with owners hoping that whatever they bought appreciates in value. At this point, I find myself questioning whether or not I want to continue with being an automotive enthusiast at all. It's just sad.

Yea wealthy people got tired of playing with their money and gambling in the stock market, especially now after covid the middle class is stretched so thin it's not easy to make money in the stock market game so they are moving to tangible assets. Easy buy for them too because they can simply price out the majority of people and only have to compete with their friends who also just left the stock market.

125,000 is for 30,000 miles or lower non stick shift. Your price range is 100,000 grab the 360 and trade up next yr. Keep the flip series going and we can watch you trade up to the better model later.

right off the rip don't judge the prices at the auction.....they are over inflated. Not sure what they are going for now, but 18 months ago $90K would get you a really nice Gallardo. (just checked, up here they're going for anywhere from $100K to $140K USD) A buddy's dad used to go to BJ just for fun then saw a camaro (forget the year) with the corvette engine. It didn't sell. He kept his eye on the "for sale" sites and saw it a month later, bought it for something like $8K less than the auction price. Why? Because they have a buyer and a seller's premium which over inflates the price. So if they are the same, YOU are paying 10% too much and the seller gets 10% less than the selling price.

2017 Ford Expedition Limited still for sale on website?, this car would be $85k new now. Premium wheels, all options , seems like good deal. So much room, you could almost go camping. You can get 250k miles on 2017 models Explorers and Expeditions. Lincoln Town Car for $3.5k, is ok for a "dealer asking price" but for a donation car , it should have a large sign, with bold letters "Make Offer".

My best advice is stay away from gated 430’s. They bring stupid amounts of money for a 430 in general. Cauley has one for $350,000 last I saw. Don’t know if they still have it. But most F1 430s go for low to mid 100k’s.

These high end auctions amaze me on how much people pay for these cars. I met a court judge at a car show trying to sell his 69 corvette. He said that he and his wife were having a good time had a few drinks and went home with the corvette. Talk about buyers remorse...

Just looked at Ferrari of New England inventory. They have a 360 Modena for $132000, a California for $197000. Also if you are involved in a local fertari owners group they sometimes let members have first dibs.

Hey Craig: you can be surprised at the money it costs, your at a collector car auction. If you look in Hemings you will find driven cars with a few miles a lot cheaper. You didn’t say the mileage if the car but most the fetch big buck have barely been driven. Great video, I do enjoy watch what some of these go for. Who would have thought a gremlin fetching 28 grand.
