I'm an atheist and I love this song, especially for the lyrics. Honestly I didn't even realize it was a christian song until I read these comments. I remember my mom playing this song in the car when I was younger :) everything was perfect , she would take my brother and I to school every morning and we were with her all the time and it was just .... Perfect. Now she's strung out on drugs really bad and I've been listening to these old songs that remind me of who my mom once was, a beautiful caring person. All I have left is memories.
@caiusballad85448 жыл бұрын
Don't settle for just memories. Help your mother. Drugs are not something that can be overcome alone. She may not say it, she may not admit it, but she needs you. Your mother cannot take the first step without help. Be there for her. Help her back to being the woman you remember.

Erika Howard I know exactly how you feel. When I was a baby, my dad and me were extremely close. Every weekened I would sit on his lap and for hours we would listen to music, but we listened to this the most. I remember singing it with him and we would dance together. He taught me how to play it on my guitar at the age of 5. It was all perfect. Now we are not close at all. Every. single. day. he grounds me, and yells at me. He makes me miserable. But for some reason, I still love him so much. I listen to this song every now and then and just close my eyes and remember all those memories...the memories that are probably long forgotten by him...the memories of times that I will never be able to have again.

I really wish Christian stations played more stuff like this Everytime I turn to our local Christian Radio station, almost all the songs are "Woohoo, God is cool, let's all be happy" and are all upbeat. This, on the other hand, is a lot more personal. She based it on her own real-life experience, and how God helped her. To me, personal stories about hardships are a lot more powerful and relatable than "God is strong and awesome, let's all be happy"

Okay so I'm legitimately FRIENDS with Lacey Sturm/Mosely and she told me as a act that this song is about her experience when she was planning on killing herself and her grandmother made her go to church. And the priest stopped and said in the middle of a Sermon "God tells me that there is a suicidal presence in the room" Or something like that. And later when she tried to leave she was stopped by a man who said that God had asked him to pray for her and with her. Lacey cried a lot and she says it was because of God that she woke up the next Morning. And yes I do personally know Lacey. Her husband Justin is a member of a church I play music for. They stop by A LOT.

well if you listen to one of laceys interviews she talks about how a lot of her songs are written from the experiences she went through as a child growing up and you should listen to her testimony about god

My hands are searching for you My arms are outstretched towards you I feel you on my fingertips My tongue dances behind my lips For you There's fire rising through my being Burning, I'm not used to seeing you I'm alive I'm alive I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing My hands float up above me And you whisper, you love me And I begin to fade Into our secret place The music makes me sway The angels, singing, say, "We are alone with you" I am alone and they are too, with you I'm alive I'm alive I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing And so I cry (holy) The light is white (holy) And I see you I'm alive (I'm alive) I'm alive (I'm alive) I'm alive I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healing Take my hand, I give it to you Now you own me, all I am You said you would never leave me I believe you, I believe I can feel you all around me Thickening the air I'm breathing Holding on to what I'm feeling Savoring this heart that's healed

Many people can't relate to this song, but coming from a fallen Christian I can still feel that innocent joy she expresses. Peace and love is all God makes you feel. It's crazy how people don't believe in Him but it's much more real than we humans are, I wish the whole world could feel that feeling too but only certain people will ever feel it. Only the people who are willing to.
