Elise was not the worst cook on the show but she wasn't strong enough to get as far as she did. If this show had been held in the UK, she would have been kicked off a hell of a lot earlier, but sadly US shows require drama to keep the audiences tuning in next week and people like Elise play to that need.

This is more of a personal betrayal than a competition one, and you’ve mentioned this in videos before. But you can’t deny that Andrew cheating on his fiancée with Heather in Season 16 was a betrayal for both Heather (someone who really viewed him as a close friend) and said fiancée. No wonder Heather later said the two are no longer on speaking terms.

I love the slow head turn Chris gives to Michael after the nomination. That's a turn that says "Oh no you DIDN'T!" Also, when Scott convinced Fran to not nominate him because they’d lose 2 people…why would Fran fall for that? If somehow both Scott and Maria went home, that means another, probably better chef would be sent to the Red Team. Hell that does happen once Scott leaves, w/ Benjamin gets swapped. I may not appreciate his stance on rice, but he is a strong chef, no one can deny that.

Benjamin was a good chef and pretty likeable at first, but then he turned into an arrogant ass. He really pissed me off with Siobhan in a later ep where Ramsay judged her sandwich to be good, but Ben kept telling her it was crap. Like dude, really. To me the first season was more like a test to future seasons, because 5 of them didn't have any cooking experience prior to the show and those who had experience didn't perform that good, either. Michael, Chris and Ralph were the only three that actually did well throughout their runs on the show, while Elsie showed she has talent and grew the most out of everyone, the rest was just hard to watch due to their terrible performances.

@@quangminhtran2916 Season 1 is kinda like Masterchef when most of people who are not chefs in general competing in a big kitchen. However, since Season 3, they raised the bar to find real chefs since most of dinner services for the first 2 seasons are too slow and make the customers left.
@quangminhtran2916
@quangminhtran2916 Жыл бұрын
@@margarethmichelina5146 Yeah I know about that, the first 2 seasons' dinner services were so bad, they had to changed some casting rules and required real chefs who have actual experience in the kitchen to be on the show. Despite the change, though, there're still a couple of terrible chefs who had no idea what they were doing and completely lost in dinner services. I believe season 6 was the last season where amatuer chefs could apply but those chefs (Tony and Sabrina) eventually didn't last long so from season 7 onward they only cast professional only with 1 or 2 inexperience chefs who either just in the field for a few years or just newly graduated from culinary schools.

It was likely that to be honest, the 2 likely talked abit before the voting or they both heard or saw her talking with the other. Their options were to keep.: Jennifer - a reasonably strong cook who made very few mistakes but had a few rough nights. Elise - someone who made not only multiple mistakes and is alot weaker in general. From a strategic standpoint, they did the right decision in the competition... plus i wouldnt be suprised if Ramsay later realized that wich made his job easier in the top 3 elimination.

I still don't get the obsession with keeping villains around at a certain point. I actually skip the entirety of season 9 whenever I rewatch the show just because of Elise. She's not even the fun kind of crazy villain like Jen from 4 and 18. She's just aggravating and actively makes the show worse/borderline unwatchable. One worth mentioning in terms of challenge performance betrayals between contestants: Ashley and Jared at the Top 5. The two were VERY close throughout the season, and practically said they’d support each other as long as the two were in it together. Then when Jared won the first individual Black Jacket reward challenge, he somehow chose Kristen to go with him instead of Ashley. This was sorta depicted as a betrayal due to their friendship beforehand. And Ashley absolutely went OFF on him when he came back from the reward, which I totally understand. Heck, in the storyline for the episode, Jared was practically served his comeuppance when he was blindsided in a double elimination with Manda. Ashley and Jared are on good terms now (something Ashley said when they were on All-Stars together), but you can tell him leaving her out of the reward was a stinger for her.

I agree Jennifer being booted out is rough and not the best choice. But its very likely they did it not due to manipulation, but it would make the next chalenge and service alot easier for them to be the Top 2. Elise atempt was pathetic and they both likely realize that or saw her talking to other. So theyre options were.: - Be honest, vote out Elise, and be at risk of not making it to the top 2 due to Jennifer being a stronger Chef. - Play along with the manipulation, vote out Jennifer, and relax abit since Elise would be easy to beat, giving them better chances of being the Top 2. Elise was fucked eitherway cause she was blinded by her Ego and these 2 had a chance to remove an actual threat and kick a weak one.

@@AlessandroChiarelli Personally I don't think Jennifer was a threat to win the season tbh lets not forget that when the black jackets come out you have to stand out as leader and Jennifer didn't stand out for me. She had no voice at all compared to Elise, yes she had big gob on her but she proved that she has a voice that can command a team. She proved that at the final 10 when she carried to red team to victory on the meat station which was made even more impressive due to the fact that night nearly all the main course orders that came into the red kitchen were meat. Even the biggest Elise critic which they are many including myself had to hold their hands up and say fair play Elise crushed it that night. Here's another way of looking at it go back to the final 15 Red team's first dinner service defeat. She was nominated by Gordon along with Carrie and everyone on the red team were on the Carrie's hopeless, Carrie's crap bandwagon after the meat station fell apart. but Gordon asked her at the elimination ceremony why didn't she take control of the station, why didn't she drive it. That said to me right there Jennifer is not a leader because a leader would've taken control.

I think Paul and Will did so out of strategy and not personal. They knew Elise couldn't beat them in the end despite what she said. Jennifer was a stronger threat to them. So they had to get rid of her. Could they have done so in a different way? Perhaps, but with five competitors left, Jennifer could've made the finale with how she was cooking.

Michael was probably the smartest Hell’s Kitchen contestant ever: -manipulated Gordon’s high hopes for Elsie and his hatred of Chris to get rid of one of his greatest competitors -immediately picked Jessica for his finale team for no reason other than to take her away from Ralph, thus making him pick the less talented members of the blue team to have someone he knew how to work with so he could get Elsie on his team -Invented the sabotage to make Ralph look bad in front of Gordon -In general, just stayed quiet, didn’t try to be too much of a leader, didn’t oversell himself, and was fairly friendly to pretty much everyone

Even prior to be put into elimination they understood each other perfectly so it was clear Michael will do something of this sort eventually. In the case of Melissa nominating the 2 girls who did the worst well done to her. I was pleased to see Tiffany go because she was heartless and egoistic girl. Fran was fooled but it was indeed a true betrayal. Garrett and Keith is number 1 for me.

Chris went from executive chef to furniture maker, yeah he was really the strongest link in the red team...Michael was right to nominate him...he wouldn't have been there that long if he didn't because he was already getting on chef's nerves from the first time he opened his mouth...much like Andrew, but I actually think that Jessica should have went home before Andrew, but because she was best of the worst it had do be him...Jessica was carried by Ralph the whole time and when it came down to her having to do things for herself she couldn't and that's why it was beautiful Karma when Michael picked her for his team, because he knew that she wanted to be on Ralph's...and when he lost I bet Jessica was thanking the kitchen gods that she wasn't...Ralph sucked in my opinion too into himself and not wanting to listen to his team members when they were doing the menus and not wanting to admit when he made a bad call or mistake, that is not someone I would want to work in my kitchen. The sabotage from Michael and the poached Halibut is why he lost...in my opinion which doesn't matter, but I have been rewatching old seasons, before watching the newer ones that I missed because of watching Flynn's channel among others and I can safely say that I think I am right in my assumptions. TL;DR: RALPH FROM SEASON ONE LOST BECAUSE HE WAS FULL OF HIMSELF AND SABOTAGE, AND CHRIS FROM SEASON ONE IS A FURNITURE MAKER NOW INSTEAD OF AN EXECUTIVE CHEF LOL.

Jessica was best of the worst in week four and week six while Ralph had it week three and week seven...Andrew was nominated three times in week three, four, and six where he was eliminated...do you see the pattern...he was nominated when either Ralph or Jessica were BoW, so I will tell you that they had it out for him from the get. Ralph and Jessica were hoping to go against each other, because in my opinion Ralph knew that Jessica was a weak chef, thankfully that didn't happen.

Though what he did was unfair, I really think Paul did it more out of strategy than actually wanting Elise to stay. She was the strongest cook on his team during the final dinner service and her performance is probably the reason why his kitchen was run more seamlessly than Will's. Paul knew Elise would not make it to the final over him or Will and he chose to not alienate her so that she'd have his back in the final.
