100% Its literally the reason I haven't finished up the S13 tails yet, until the V1 gets its new flash and has a cool (not dancy dancy mode) running light animation :) You can tell anyone to flip a series of switches, but the craziest lights require computers, and wire harnesses, and lots of extra effort and know how. @flyryde4 жыл бұрын
Paper instructions I fear aren’t super common in non-massive-corporation-huge-production-line type specialized lighting products, lol. These are ready for any lights, but the existing stock lights are not ready for them. You first need to take full 12v control over each LED in the stock lights before you can hook them up to this. Currently they’re all connected to turn on together with 12v, not independently of each other. That’s where the custom work and know how comes into play 👌

Naaah, it’s kinda hard to see the headlights and tails at the same time to tell what’s in sync, or matched in number. The effect only lasts as long as the signal pulse, so it’s kinda synced up by that automatically.

One thing I noticed on the product page it mentions during "parking light" mode, it states the power will 100%, either this is incorrect or something else is happening to get a lower brightness of your tail light demo. Is the product description on their website incorrect. I've tried contacting them and they haven't yet replied in a couple days. Not sure how I feel ordering from them if they can't reply within a week. I want to like these but need some additional technical information like a white paper from them.

So I'm doing a modifications to my rear lights and want sequential led turning lights. There will be 12 led's used so only need 12 out of the 14 channels needed but where I'm confused is that the power source for the current turn signal will be on/off repeatedly until I turn the signal off. So if I use the turn signal power to power the module will it not keep turning the module off? Or do I wire in a constant 12v feed to somewhere else on the board so the sequential turning doesn't keep resetting? Any help appreciated
@flyryde4 жыл бұрын
Your parking lights will supply power for the white input/output to LEDs, and the Amber LEDs will get power from your signals, which temporarily interrupt the white LEDs.

Hi Chris question for you , I have a 1967 mustang that I'm doing a gt500 conversion on and I want to find something I can use to get that slow 3 sequence look what do you recommend for just the 3 leds because the kits they have are ridiculously expensive
@jamest.50012 жыл бұрын
I thought about a similar setup, I was thinking about using a couple relays with capacitor and resistors, use the capacitor to slow the turn on of the next light, the cap would need to charge to allow the relay to turn on, use a resistor to charge the cap, that is parallel with the relay ground and trigger, something like a 4 ohm 10 watt resistor , just use one per light after the first light, the cap size and resistors may need adjusting to get the speed where desired, but , this is the not so easy way, cheap but not easy, the electronic controller would be nice, especially with the show mode! On your car I'd put about 3-4 tiny strips in each section, so each would go 1,2,3- 1,2,3- 1,2,3- off repete, it may require disassembly of the tail light, but no real modifications, a plastic or aluminum plate could be mounted inside, allowing it to be returned to stock easily, maybe a few other features could be added,

Interesting how certain fields jump on a bandwagon... Controllable LEDs and various board (such as the Arduino) combos have been around for quite a long time. Slapping the term "sequential" and "turn signal" instantly makes it cost more, and that's silly. Tons of free sources out there for various programs, hardware interfaces, etc. I've seen insane setups that cost less than $50 for front, running, and rear LED lighting. And you aren't bound to the set amount of effects that come with an expensive boxed solution with a logo on it. Since anyone diving into this scene is already going to be getting their hands dirty and have some prerequisite tools needed, you might as well learn about "addressable LEDs". The WS2812B plus an Arduino is the most common approach. A 16' strip of WS2812B (which you can cut and solder as needed for your fit) and Arduino Nano is like $45 on average on Amazon. That'd be enough to do all your exterior lights and have some LED strip left over for interior lighting if you wanted. That's really all this is. An addressible LED strip and a microcontroller.
@flyryde4 жыл бұрын
You sound like the dude standing at the bottom of a mountain you’ve never climbed, telling people how they should climb it bro. I’m sad for you. If you want to help people by teaching them what you know about addressable, you should do that. There’s a lot of people that don’t know any better, looking for the best budget option to accomplish something (whether it’s the optimal option or not), and they may just have endless time on their hands to do things the slow, cumbersome, non automotive grade specific, cheap ass nerd way. You can be that guy 👌 Good luck 🙏
