Hey - what that you are presenting on 11:57 - i got lost. And since ur using flysky radio, are you using flysky receiver aswell ? or is it TBS receiver installed in the wing ?
@AliJimmer5 жыл бұрын
This idea would only practically work with TBS Crossfire Tx or Crossfire Tx Lite and not the Crossfire Tx Micro because you'd need another more expensive radio with OpenTX to configure the module same with the R9M then you could connect it up to the FlySky i6 but what's the point you've a better radio to use the Crossfire Tx Micro or R9M module to use them with? Where as the Crossfire Tx (standard) and Lite you can configure without a radio. The multi protocol module I'm sure it works no problem. If anyone has a FlySky i6 looking to get long range then get the crossfire lite unless you want bluetooth telemetry connectivity to another device then get the standard Crossfire Tx

Do you have to do anything in the firmware, or is PPM out always mimicking what ever you're doing on the channels? Shouldn't you turn off the internal module, or somehow deactivate it? No reason to use battery power and cause interference (especially if you're using another protocol on 2.4GHz). Thanks for this, I want Crossfire, but I don't see a reason to upgrade the radio itself=)

Is such a mode suitable for racing drones or only for wings? It's about the time delay of the signal
@konradwiniarski5 жыл бұрын
The latency of the radio modules themselves you will find under the link. To send entire PPM frame from radio to TX you need 16..25ms (depends on amount of channels per frame). So add radio module latency + PPM and you have estimated complete link latency (not including radio and operator (; ). 40ms it's not bad for cruising with planes or wings but for racing or freestyle... hmm, might be disturbing.

Could you please show the r9m working? Also you should really put in 2 or 3 18650s in your transmitter, I have two in mine with a USB charging cirquit and it works great. Also I will be taking your 3d file and making it as low profile as possible, and then cutting the back out of my transmitter and then I will countersink the 3d part into the radio, it should only stick out like a centimetre or so. I'm using a turnigy i10.

Arend Mookhoek The FS-i6 actually doesnt support any voltage higher than 7-8V. If you put a 2S into it it will brake. 1S allthough is to low. You would need a more complicated USB circuit with a Power Bank adapter for Example. Did you do this to your Transmitter or does yours already support 3S from Stock?

Please help, I connected i6x wth ppm to r9m, solder r9mm rx to fc, set receiver to sbus in betaflight, r9m bind with receiver, but receiver doesnt respond to flysky inputs at all.

Did you get this working?

What would it take to take the power from the main switch and then from there to the toggle switch that way you never have to worry about killing the batteries
@gravitywillwin94485 жыл бұрын
He took battery power after the main switch (it seems, at least), so the module won't be on with the main switch off. I'm guessing how long does it take for an high power module to drain 4 AA cells...
@WrongBirthday4 жыл бұрын
@@gravitywillwin9448 nope its battery direct..so its not connected to the flysky power switch..... thats why he attached an extra module power off switch also

can you please tell how to configure it and bind it or please make a tutorial only for tbs crossfire on fsi6

You are a genius man!! But if u put a ppm input in the module, that means you re output will have the latency that ppm gives you ?
@DroneMesh6 жыл бұрын
Yes but not much around the latency of a qx7 possibly.. I'll test it soon.

@@DroneMesh yes! Tell us more about the latency in this solution Please!

Currently main advantage is range and penetration capabilities.. which is brought to a $50 beast of a radio.
@Denis_33016 жыл бұрын
@@DroneMesh well if the latency is not noticebale then it's definitely a good upgrade which everyone should consider over FrSky DHT. But if it's by any mean irritating then why bother if you are not a long range pilot but more a freestyler in seek of a reliable link.

Great mod, anyway you will use it in ppm mode = more latency 😁

How can you make settings about r9m from flysky? How can u bind?
@ChrisLBradly5 жыл бұрын
With R9M using PPM mode power changing and binding can be done with rear switches and function (F/S - bind) button...see manual for details
@adnanalmohisin49004 жыл бұрын
Did that but nothing happened stil not binding

Will the theme of the connection via ppm influence the range? or this is not relevant and the crossfire works the same in terms of range as for example a taranis? I mean, the module is working at 915 / 868Mhz or going to ppm works at 2.4ghz? again, thanks pornlo what are you doing and sorry if the question is not good but I am a beginner
@marc_frank6 жыл бұрын
no it won't. ppm is just a way to let the crossfire know where the sticks are. it then converts that to it's own protocol called crsf, which works a little different than ppm, but is essentially used for the same purpose. the frequency of the link has nothing to do with the protocol used to communicate. an example would be talking english with a low voice and talking english with a high voice. the protocol would be the english language and the frequency is the pitch of the voice. lower tones can go further and bend around objects, but they can both use english. ppm = spanish, crsf = english, here only the amount of information per word changes, but they can both be talked with a high and low voice. i'm not so sure about the following: 2.4ghz and 868mhz both use amplitude manipulation to transport information. the transmit at different power levels to represent a 1 and a 0. the human voice is much more suffisticated in that it both uses loudness and tone to express data. rf links use only loudness (amplitude). tone = frequency
@DroneMesh6 жыл бұрын
Loved the explanation.. I'll simplify it a little.. Protocol does not change range only latency... The frequency and output power is what gives the range..
