Perfectly explained only I wish I lived in such a beautiful area. Here everything is flat without beautiful rocky coasts. Well I am having problems taking a burst of pictures in the 48mp modes with the Mini 3 pro. Then sometimes the connection with the drone drops out. In the 12mp mode it is no problem. Do you have that too?

Awesome video as always Aldryn. I picked up a Freewell Gear All Day 8pk ND/PL 4/8/16/32/64, CPL, & ND1000/2000 filters in a nice single case. The ND1000 is pretty awesome with the Mavic 3 and makes for such amazing photos. I picked it up after seeing your video on Long Exposure with the Mavic 3

Great tips on how to get better long exposure shots. I used to take long exposures with my camera's back in the day, but I haven't really done any with my drones. But after watching your video i'm inspired to get new ND filters and give it a try. Great video Aldryn, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for a great video. Question - I have the Mavic Mini Pro 3, and some ND filters. I'd like to take a long exposure photo while moving the drone. However, the drone keeps stopping in mid-air when I take a photo. Any idea how to overcome that behavior? thanks again for the great content!

I have been watching your videos since. I too live in San Diego for 23 years now. I bought my first drone after watching your videos on DJI Phantom 4. My curiosity, flying around that particular area. Do you require to have a drone license (Part 107)? I’m just reluctant to fly near the coast as people might say something. The photo is stunning by the way.

@nevvanclarke9225 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your video. I've been a landscape long exposure shooter for a very long time and I recently purchased this drone and I'm loving it but I was wondering about pushing the exposure links out to that kind of length I'm gonna start around about a quarter of a second or even an eighth of a second which I still think you get some lovely texture. I think probably the thing that you didn't mention which I think is probably picking a day where it's not windy. If it's not windy down the drone is not gonna move much it will still move a little bit, but almost like I'd be taking four or five shots as well and hoping that one of them is really sharp. It's almost like if you keep shooting with using the screen, you will find that one of the shots will be sharp.....
@FlytPath Жыл бұрын
Ya wind can def make a difference

@@FlytPath it's definitely given me some ideas I will probably try later in the day as well when there is less direct light so I could probably get away with an nd32 or ND64
@SimonPhillipsPhoto Жыл бұрын
Yep wind certainly plays a big factor and shooting while the sun it high in the sky you're more likely to develop hot spots in your image. I can see in the photos despite the effort to try and get the exposure right theirs blown whites which he's tried to pull back using highlight recovery, it just looks flat the image when you lift the shadows as well.

As 1 of mini 3 user, this is gold information. How about taking long exposure photos/videos without filters? Thx
@Yankeededandy62 Жыл бұрын
Nice, thanks for that. I found that it is possible to recover at least some of the overexposed areas in RAW images (at least with my Air2S), but you're right by saying it is better to slightly under expose instead.

Thank you so much for this! I have been staying in video mode so much with the mini 3 pro because it has just felt like it performs leagues ahead of the still pictures. I see that the DJI store offers ND filters 16/64/256. Is the ND 1000 filter that you’re using here that much darker or is it using a different “scale” of ND measurement?

I have a hard time believing that a drone will stay as still as a tripod. It's not happening. Maybe if the air is dead still.
