A King King 350ER costs a little more, but has a much longer range, and holds 2 more people. Also Piaggio Aerospace declared itself insolvent, and has been for sale since 2018.

It's very interesting because I live 8 minutes away from SJC ad I always hear this plane because it usually takes off north and the turns east and flies over my house. The sound it makes is so distinctive I know it is a Piaggio every time even before looking up. Cool videos Owe.

Absolutely Beautiful! I'm one of those weird folks who actually loved hearing them fly over my house, on approach to JFK, when I lived in Queens NY 😅 Damn I'd love to fly that puppy! I watched another P180 pilot who said that due to the forward wing losing lift first, that this aircraft would float quite a bit prior to touchdown, if you don't push the yoke forward. However, it doesn't appear that you push when you land. Now I'm curious what the other pilot meant? The only time I've ever pushed forward, is during wheel landings in the taildragger, when I got my tailwheel endorsement several years ago. That was in a Super Decathlon (which is also the only plane I've flown with a stick). Fun little airplane!

I live and work in close proximity to SJC and over the years I can always when it the Piaggio going over head with its distinctive prop noise... Always would go out side to take a good look as it's long been one of my favs. I wonder how many times it has been you at the controls! Fantastic content!

Dude I seen a Piaggio going down a taxi way once and then take off and I thought it sounded like a normal turboprop, like every other turboprop I’ve ever heard. Sounds awesome! I really don’t know what people are talking about. When they say they make a weird noise.

They are very distinctive on the ground. I was holding short for takeoff while one came behind me. Myself and the other pilot said whiskey, tango foxtrot, what the hell. It was the Piaggio.

@7:26, Collin Pro-Line avionic is showing its age. Even later Piaggio P180 model still uses this out-dated avionic. Compared to the newer Garmin G3000 the Pro-Line is needlessly complex and awkward to use. The Pro-Line’s three screens are small when compared to Garmin G3000 and Honeywell Primus systems. Pro-Line primary display doesn’t give the pilot all the essential info on a single screen; and it doesn’t offer auto engine start, FADEC, and auto emergency landing as found in the TBM 960 which has the G3000.
