This episod was such a good one like the others. I have never seen the consequences that some crash can have on the racer like that. It shows some other aspects of professional mountain biking. I think that we always think of the consequences on the body like breaked bones but we often doens't realise the consequences on the mindset that can have a concussion. I think you are very strong to support a concussion because it have some consequences that take lore time to desepear and I think that the team have done a very good job. ( I am sorry for the quality of my comment, in fact I am French so the english isn't my birth language but I think that this serie is very easy to understand even if you don't speak or understand english very well. The bike that you make us win is also an incredible gift. For me you are perfect and you have to keep doing some things like that.)

Can we just take a moment to recognise how much of an awesome dad Tony is please? Forget the fact he's a team manager, the way he spoke to Tahnée half way through when she was struggling was everything someone wants to hear from their parent.

Totally agree. So impressed how open the seagraves have been on this, to break down the myth that concussion is minor. Hero’s all. Love from Ireland

This video is such an inspiration, not just for people who MTB but for anyone that has had a set back in life. Tony’s comment about everything Tahnée has done has made her the person she is today, an awesome person. Parent of the year 🤙

Tahnee has always been one of my biggest inspirations and favorite riders. She has such a cool style when riding and isn’t afraid to hit intimidating features. She’s inspired me to progress in my riding and to push myself. Concussions are insanely tough and it’s hard to see her go through something like that. I had no idea how big and difficult they could be. Thanks for showing what it’s like behind the scenes and for showing the other side. She’s tough as nails 🤙🏼

Great to see the FMD crew speaking so openly about all the ups and downs of racing. To also give them the opportunity to showcase this brings home the struggles that everyone has to go through. Fantastic series and spreading the experience/effects of concussion can only help move forwards the understanding and development within the sport!

We watched Saturday evening on the big telly; I don't think my eldest blinked for most of it! I appreciate it's all (ultimately) publicity, but it's different to what lots of the 'brands' churn out. Really feels like you're with the family and sharing some of the absolute worst times they could have. My girls, well our whole family really, are huge Tahnee fans so sit here with tears in our eyes seeing her suffer. Tony is a legend. I always assumed he'd be quite a 'dragon' parent, constantly pushing for the success of the child, so to see him be almost the complete opposite and so emotionally engaged with his kids is truly joyous. What a great chap. Looking forward to the next one.

This hits sooo hard, I was airlifted to a regional trauma centre after a bad crash, the physical injuries were fixed over time, the concussion I was just left to deal with and it lasted months, the after effects, years. My life fell apart after the accident, I lost my job. I was a shadow of my former self. I had no support for what I was going through. Sharing this video helps me understand what happened, thank you. I wish I knew who I could talk to about it.
@martincleaver50542 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear the lack of support affected your life so much, I am currently in the same position, however, perhaps I have found a little more support?! But the feeling of being left to deal with the concussion by myself due to medical knowledge being so poor makes it a very lonely recovery process. We need more research and support for people that have suffered concussion, the after affects are huge and the persistent concussion symptoms are even harder to live with than the cause of the concussion. I hope you have made some good progress and recovery.

Thanks for making this. It's clear that much more awareness is needed. I had a severe concussion after a road bike crash 14 years ago and the first 6 months afterward were hell. Took 2-3 years to lose most of the symptoms--this was at a time where there was basically no treatment. Never did get back my full memory and verbal ability. Learn the signs, seek treatment, take it seriously. Wishing you full recovery Tahnee!

I actually do not ride a Canyon bike but that does not matter, I love what you show here, it is the other side of the coin, but that's what we want to see! Emotions and real feelings and thoughts! Thank you so much for this. , but hey this content here "the look behind the scenes" of a professional MTB team (the Canyon family) is just fantastic, so much humanity. The more you know about someone's path to success or failure the more respect you have for all the riders. Please keep it up and good luck for season 2K23.

Absolutely loving this series so far! Continue to hang in there Tahnee; it looks like you've already made such amazing progress. I went through something similar at the end of 2020. Mine wasn't caused by a concussion but I had a history of head-knocks and 1 definite concussion from wakeboarding. I think that for me it was probably caused by multiple stressors on my body and mind which got to such a point that things boiled over. I went from loving life and being in my prime to a shell of my former self. I had vestibular issues, eye issues, migraines/headaches, random body aches/sensations, fatigue and extreme anxiety/panic and mood episodes. It all started so suddenly and felt like it came out of nowhere. I had to quit the sports I loved, my job and I also isolated myself from friends and family. I went through so many tests, scans and therapies. I'm happy to report though that after a year and a half I was back to my normal self. Unfortunately I still have some mental health problems but it's very well managed now and I can live a fulfilling life. It's the hardest thing I've ever been through and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. The progress is not linear which also makes it that much more frustrating.
