Fmr. Israeli Prime Minister: "Hamas [Must] Suffer the Proper Blow" | Amanpour and Company

Israel has been rocked to its core by Hamas’ surprise attack, which has left at least 900 dead, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The Palestinian Health Ministry says the death toll in Gaza is now more than 800, with more than 4,000 injured. As the fighting continues, the U.N. calls the latest developments "bone-chilling." Ehud Barak was Israel’s prime minister from 1999 to 2001. Before that he was Israel’s defense minister for nearly six years, first under Ehud Olmert and then for four years under Benjamin Netanyahu. Barak tells Christiane why the Hamas attack was “the most severe blow” in Israel’s “entire existence.”

We must not shy to speak out the truth nothing than truth, the people of Palestine under brutal occupation, those who are under occupation has the right to resist the occupation under international law period without any but. The occupying force has a duty to protect these people not commit pogrom to annihilate their existence in front of the camera and the world is silent, it’s not shame on the oppressors as he knows he is enjoying it for past 76 years with impunity, but it’s shame on the world community who hypocritically treating the war crimes against the slaughters with double standard, just compare the Ukrainian wars with Palestinians you will know the double standard. I strongly believe the Ukrainian issue happened before to expose this double standard and to tell the world Gaza has destroyed the past world orders headed by un with its various fake human right for good as the league of nation occurred, thank you Gaza for helping humanity to throw all these double standards in the history’s dust bin. Lots of vocabulary which has been used like holocaust and antisemitism will be of the past replaced by one word JUSTICE for all. In this there will not be any building of hatred by some against others because we allow the discrimination occur instead we illuminating it, we are cussing the hatred against the law abiding Jew to be discriminated purposely pretending that we are protecting them while a small group who benefit from this discrimination and capitalise on it, we must pull the rag from under their feet. Just pull the carpet from under the the feet of all parties, those who pretend to protect the Jew and those we think they hate the Jew by denying all the benefits of these two magic word holocaust and antisemitism by banning their use world wide and make it as a crime , and replacing them with only one word JUSTICE for all , this will resolve for good , the Jew as well none Jew get their protection without discrimination, if we go beating around the bush than we are as international community to be blamed.

As someone who believes in peace and non-violence I certainly think that the Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians are wrong, but so is the one-sided and de-contextualised condemnation for the Hamas attacks that fails to take account of Israel's ongoing oppression and dispossession of the Palestinians people, including confining 2 million people to an open-air prison in Gaza and denying them basic human rights, including even the right to safe drinking water (96% of water is contaminated); along with the countless other human rights abuses that Israel perpetrates against Palestinians in Israel and the West Bank. Israel has made a mockery of Palestinian politicians who have tried to work towards a betterment of their conditions by means of peaceful negotiations - taking whatever concessions they can get from them while continuing to steal more of their land - and has brutally oppressed non-violent resistance such as those that took place in Bil'in, as shown in the film 5 Broken Cameras. Under such circumstances it is inevitable that some Palestinians will be willing to resort to desperate, violent and even massively counterproductive means to try to secure their freedom. So one of the problems with one-sided condemnation of Hamas is that even from the perspective of concern, primarily, for the welfare of Israelis, it is completely useless as it fails to do anything to address to background conditions of massive injustice and oppression against the Palestinians, which pretty much guarantees that further acts of violence will happen again in the future. Conversely, the demand for Palestinian rights is a demand for conditions that will address the root cause of Palestinian violent resistance, which will actually protect Israelis.

Israel left Gaza in 2005 in exchange for peace which it did not get. Hamas stole the underground water pipes and made rockets out of them. That is the reason for why the Gazans water supply is so bad. Meanwhile, Israel was supplying Gaza with water, energy and food without charge for years while Hamas was shooting rockets at them. It is the criminal organization Hamas that has deprived Gazans of basic human rights and turned Gaza into an open air prison. Anyone who speaks out is tortured and killed. Meanwhile, the Hamas leadership are billionaires from the aid money donated to Gaza. Don't believe the propaganda. Mohammad said: War is deceit.

Is that why Israeli survivors waited 6 to 12 hours to be rescued, because the Israelis under Hamas control during the attack were killed along with the Hamas fighters to insure Hamas lost without being able to use those civilians as hostages?
