Daft Punk (usually) didn't use sidechain, but rather over compression. Boosting their kick's low end to trigger the detector. Not to be a besserwisser, but it does sound slightly different and it's cool to play around with both techniques.

Hi, you must use trs (stereo) cable into the sidechain imput , the signal goes to de ring (center contact)
