FMS 1989 Toyota Hilux & EazyRC Glacier 1/18 Scale RC Trucks

A short comparison/crawl video of FMS 1989 Toyota Hilux and EazyRC Glacier (Chevy K10). Both are 1/18 scale. Only modification is a small adjustment to the shocks on the Glacier to give it the lifted look and the tires are swapped for cooler color combination

Nope i really enjoy these, my only complaint is that 1/18 is is one of the odd scales that dont have too much out there just yet but its nice for DIY stuff

Those glaciers need to be lifted, for sure, and a roll bar would be advised, I have one I'm looking forward to it's needed upgrades.

Thanks for the comment, since doing this DIY there have been more suspension upgrades out there that help stabilize it but this was free and fun to mess with!

Well, the battery charge was probably no longer sufficient... 😉 Can happen! 🤷‍♂️ I don't want to charge more often than necessary either. Thanks for the comparison! I think that you can see very well that the FMS is more controllable. The controls are simply more sensitive. Too bad for the Glacier, because it already looks good.

Youre right on that, took me a minute to realize what all the beeping was. I recharged the battery and switched the tripple A’s in the remote and now it runs good. I need to get a little better with my filming too lol thank you though!

If I got the yellow one I think I’d chop the bed maybe take it off completely… do a roll bar cage set up for a spare or two!

Yea that sounds sick, id like to remake the toy story pizza planet truck, its already got the yellow paint, i could get some different colors and make it a little older and rusty then find some sort of mini space ship for the roof

Ive been thinking about it, I want to see if I can find some suspension for 1/18 but no luck yet. And all I did was change the location on the to mount of the frame for the K10 for suspension.

Where did u get the lift for the glacier

I took a drill bit and drilled a hole just below the original spot for the top of the suspension the frame and moved it down to that hole and it instantly lifted it once it was drilled in

I just subbed! I like the k10 just cause its got the nice hard body and a sick scale look. I had thought about getting more of the eazy rc stuff to compare as well but when i found the toyota i couldnt pass it up. My k10 just lost the little mini bolt that holds the bearing in place with the wheel so i currently only have 3wd if thats a thing haha

Hahahaa! That’s funny! I ran my gen 7 and that same thing happened! Got it fixed and only drove it once since I fixed it! I feel like anything bigger than 18 scale breaks fast! Lol

When i built my first scx10 from the frame up, i went with the cheapest parts i could find since i was new to rc and each time i tried to crawl with it, something fell apart or broke so now its a little more put together haha. I need to make a video on that soon
