Awesome video, beautiful flights and textbooks landings! Thumbs-up for that! 👍🏾 I also painted the underside of the wings Fluorescent Orange for better visibility!... About batteries, I use 2200mAh...👍🏾😁 I also replaced the factory wingtip skids for the ones that the FMS Fox 3000 sport glider comes with because those ones have small wheels and reduces the chances of damage at landing on hard surfaces... You need to glue them in with foam tac and they fit solid and work perfectly fine!...😁 About the rear skid plate, I solved the issue you mentioned by putting a small amount of clear duct tape over the factory skid plate and problem solved!... Another thing I did to her was gluing a small door bumper under the nose close to the ESC plastic ventilation window to help reduce damages every time you land her on hard surfaces and the plane nose down after touching down...👍🏾 Here is a link of her maiden flight day!...Hope that you like it! 🤞🏾 kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2Wmo6ied9CEf8U Hava great rest of your day! Thanks for your response to my comment 👍🏾 About that door bumper, I bought a regular size white one and cut it in half, then trim it to fit the shape of the fuselage, then glue it with foam tac. That will protect that ESC cooling vent from damage. If you land her on grass all the time you won't need this little mod, but for hard surfaces is a MUST!... The Duct tape on the tail skid serves as a shock absorber on hard surfaces and prevent it from coming off on a hard landing... You don't need a lot, just to wrap it a little bit will suffice!... I ordered an ASW 17 I want to program a full house set up with my spectrum receivers a8Hc and a 10Ch with my IX12 transmitter. There are no videos on how to do it. no checklist on what to do. frustration setting in 😲

A 6 channel is all that is needed for this plane and yes it is frustrating to try to find a step by step video. I am bedroom bound with illness other wise I could share my radio setup.

Hey Guy! I wanted to let you know that I didn't get a notification on this video, and I have the Bell set. Just wanted to let you know about that. Might be a KZbin problem! This plane is really a nice flyer, but wouldn't work for me. It's to heavy and I can't throw anymore. ;( I really like FMS products. I bought the FMS P-47 Razorback 1500mm, and I will be using Speckrum 6S 5000mAh 50C G2 smart packs in it. But it is still sitting the Box! LOL Have a Merry Christmas Guy! ;)

You dont have to throw it at all just up to 3/4 throttle and just lean forward a bit with her. She will fly straight away from you. Post the flight on that Jug when you get her going. And yes It must be a YT problem with the bell.

Mine is on the way. Too bad about all the metal parts. They should have thought of carbon fiber instead of metal. It's going to be great for flying and heavy winds and slope soaring with a full house setup

Hey my friend ! I receve my asw17 two weeks ago ! so can you check something for me ! in the box we have a little bag with four screws and two pushrods ! one of the pushrod is a little bit thicker ! one is 1.18mm and the other one 1.38mm thicker ! so my question is , do I have to fix the 1.38mm on the rudder or elevators? thank you! by the way really like this glider !

This has better construction bot the ASW flies better for a pure glider type, this is more of a sport glider.

Both a great but the SZD-54 will lull you into a false sense of security. She flies so well....watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqC8doWcZc2Bobc I learned the hard way dont let her tip stall to close to the ground!!!. Both are excellent gliders, But the SZD is far cheaper and easier to handle.

If I try to fly this with a 5000mah spektrum smart battery is this a good or bad idea?

You could but it would make it fly piggish. The point of this power Glider is to get her up high and enjoy the wind doing aerobatics by long downward runs picking up speed with the dive instead of a motor. or get her up high and just glide. A 3200 4s is just perfect.

I use 2200 mah 4s ...lighter, faster , much glidering , probably even more lifts. However this glider is right for lite-medium slope condition just because of it’s a little bit heavy for termic glide....even if it can. I sudgest ail-flaps mix on slope . The plus of this model is the speed of assembly on field

I agree she is quite well designed. I dont fly my planes to their full potential, I fly them just for a bit. Keeping me hungry to keep flying.

Mine landed and the wing caught some grass, and the plane cartwheeled. causing massive damage because of its weight. Wing lock's broke, cannot be replaced, or you have to buy new wings, one rod was bent To repair this plane it would cost me over $150 just not worth it, and parts are difficult to find, Also in my opinion it is underpowered, a few of my friends have replaced the motor.

Well I hope this does not happen to mine. Sorry your's is a loss. And I think it is fine on power if just soaring about is all you want. I can see however a little more power would be nice if I am wanting to speed about more.

I have one of these. It’s a beast with a 2200 in it. Good sloper but not much for thermals unless it’s a boomer day. Does handle wind well though.

The guys at the club who have gliders are using a rolling dolly for takeoffs. Don't know what advantage that has over hand launching, I'll have to ask next time.
