Thanks for the detailed tutorial! This is the only video I've come across that shows the hex head on the shaft. The others say to either by the tool or risk scratching the shaft with needle nose pliers and tissue

Another free mod ive discovered today is go to lowes, go to the hardware section, find a 5/16" x 1 1/2" compression spring, then replace factory shocks with small springs

It seems to me that it's mostly the friction between shaft and o ring that is causing the dampening. The oil is just to lube the o ring so it doesn't wear.

Just had to explain to my wife I was watching RC videos when she heard the part about the shaft going in without wrecking the o-ring 🤦🏻

Thanks for this very helpful video .... i just bought an FMS FCX24 Power Wagon and Knew i would have to put some oil in my shocks almost straight away ....soooooo ..... here i go :))))) I'm interested to know what Mods and Upgrades you have done to yours and what would you recommend ? I have ordered the RCAWD 35mm Extended Rear Link Kit with Driveshaft included and Wheels and tyres ..... not sure if i will go 1.0" wheels or 1.3" .... factory plastic rims seem to be around 1.3" - 1.5" .... Ahhhh it will be Fun discovering and working with All these elements :)))) Love what you do buddy !!

@@waybetteryouaustralia3934 thanks, I’m glad it helped I would stay at 1.0 wheels and get some rc4wd tires or even Injora branded ones, same for wheels you can’t go wrong with either.

Thanks for the tutorial! Think Traxxas 40w oil will be ok to use?

No problem, I can’t confirm that about that specific oil.

can I essentially do this with telescopic shocks too??

Yea you can, if they don’t have o rings they will eventually leak, just check the periodically.

How did you remove em from the screws? Just pop it off?

Yes, just carefully. I didn’t even think to show that, mybad.

Wrong.. 1 o-ring goes on the shaft, the other little o-ring goes under the cap you took off, that’s what holds the oil in the shock..🤷🏻♂️
@Backyard_KLX Жыл бұрын
I guess you’re right and that will also work, I can say, these are done on 2 sets of Fms Fcx24 shocks and have still held the same amount of oil since I installed them.. better than Hotracing, Powerhobby, and RcAwd. Thanks for your input.
