I put a 180 Rcawd motor in a MB24 chassis, FMS 1/18 straight rear axle .

Aren’t they counter rotating driveshaft’s ? So they wouldn’t work with SCX axles .

@@kevincasey6876 yeah, i realized that soon after commenting. Total bubble burst! I would have bought one otherwise. I've got a tow truck with X15 axles that i wanted a two speed for. There are others, but this one seems more compact.

I love the tiny tires, it does perform pretty dog gone good better than what I thought. It’s not a cop crawler but they’re just as much fun. One of my favorites is just to drive around trails until you spot something out in the middle of nowhere, yeah that’s the beauty of this awesome hobby 👍👍😎

Back watching again, Matt, Thursday, August 29 3:46 PM home from work yeah love my little trophy camel trophy trucks. I got the same too, the defender, 110 and the discovery I do have their aluminum bead locks, yellow with the brass inner rings, big difference also just got the same except but silver for the discovery stock tires. And I just ordered yesterday the 28th the brass lower links I think they just came out with it as always appreciate your videos.👍👍😎

Pumped about this new 24! Just bought the Range Rover and the injora Fcx24/fcx18 20% overdrive gear. That Discovery body looks so nice too. Excited to see you explore this new format with scx24 chassis

Well damn... Here i was thinking it was another body swapped FCX24 with straight axles. Pleasantly surprised on the counter-rotating driveshafts, easily swapped transmission (due to mounting locations), as well as the body hinge setup. Well done FMS. As always, I dig your unbiased opinions on these micros.

Wow, haven’t really taken none of mine apart except for the defender 110 I broke one tooth on the pinion gear in the rear end so I ordered four sets of gears yeah spares👍👍

That design with the gear is for a counter balanced drive shaft!!! So it eliminates body torque twists and many other benefits!

@@guilhermerovida5488 yeah. Just wish it was flipped from the factory so it didn’t have a shovel on the skid. Or wasn’t so low in the transmission. I spin my transmission around for a bit more clearance lol

I had to make a little list of current rtr's I am considering and make a pro & con list to see what I want to get. I already have so many crawlers that I am thinking about the Arrma Mojave grom first. Now gotta figure out which 1 of these 4 rovers I like best. Last year around this time, I got my first brushless RC boat, and had a blast with it every time I took my kids swimming. I think that arrma mojave will be fun for a change for me like the boat was! Thanks for the teardown and informative video. I just bought the discovery version as well as a ton of accessories like inner fenders,skid plate,window cages etc. Just curious since you said the chassis is the same as the scx24,so does that mean the scx24 transmission/skid plate will work on the new fcx24 chassis? I like the idea of the 2 speed but just my personal opinion,I think second gear is set too high but thats just me. Thanks

I scrap my plan in buying tr4m bronco for £179. I went ahead and bought the fcx24m Discovery for £90 and the rest went to upgrades like brass wheels etc. The best decision i’ve made.

I just want the body and transmission. I've got built rigs that would fit the body perfect, and that are super capable. One issue is that i was hoping that it would be a 180 motor because i want this transmission for a tow rig, but you're right.. the 050 has the power and this transmission is more compact and good for a transplant into an scx24. Probably could make it work. The website has this transmission for sale, I THINK, looks like it, but I'm not sure.

Is their scx24 axles that are better than fcx24m axles that aren't plug and play? "Same width"? Or better yet I'm looking for the an upgrade that is the same width as a stock fcx24m/scx24.

@@waynewilloughby3915 well the 24m axles use a reverse rotation on the rear so they don’t work well on an scx24. There’s not really any upgraded axles for the 24m. For scx24 axles I prefer the iso axles. With the correct wheels they can sit pretty narrow and turn on a dime.

I don`t know, why most guys, buys trail scalers and want that they should drive like a comp crawler?! This will NEVER function!!! Drive this rig like the REAL one. This means "SCALE". And second..., most buys RTR`s and than there comes the mods! Makes no sense. If you put the same amount of money in to it, what the vehicle did cost, or even more, buy better a kit.
