Thank you so much for making this video! I have put together a handful of planes before but MAN, those instructions are straight trash! After flipping a couple pages I immediately went looking for a video. Thanks again for sharing this video. Slapped that thing together in no time. Also, this is kind of an odd ball transmitter. Thanks for explaining the buttons on top.

I am so happy that they got the rights to use the Miss America paint job. I was very surprised that they never came up with it a while ago

Great Video. One question I have is on your battery storage. You have enough to create a small thermonuclear explosion. Do you ever get concerned with the fire risk and I'm wondering if you could create a video specifically around lipo battery management? might be good for the electric RC community.

Yes, and funny you should ask, since I work on industrial scales, and was at a place that makes and sells Fire control equipment, and fire extinguishers, I struck up a conversation with the guy...Seems there might be better options than our already in place ABC fire extinguishers. CO2 is what he suggested, and we might actually put in an automatic system. As for worry...I segregate any packs that cause concern, and have never had a fire or risky situation beyond those resulting from a crash, or a wrong hookup. Most fires start, and are caused by charging wrong (usually too fast or unattended) or discharging too fast...which is also a no-no...but we too have purposely done this on occasion, but in controlled environment. Fire is a REAL hazard, and more lipo's means more risk. Fortunately, the SMART packs are way safer, and a large part of the reason I can tolerate the risk. They auto-balance, and AUTO-DISCHARGE which is HUGE toward removing any REAL risk of fire. BUT, everyone is gonna be comfortable with different levels of risk, and you need to be sure you're comfortable with what you do too. Hope this helps. P.S. The fire suppression system I'm talking about would just stop a CHAIN REACTION from one pack that would catch fire to another pack, and so on-and so forth - it's called a "run-away" and usually happens with lipo's that aren't controlled by a BMS (battery management system - like SMART packs) BUT can happen still. Please do you OWN research, and don't just take what I say for granted. I don't really lie to give loads of advice about lipo's, since I don't want the legal exposure, or to be even a little responsible for you or your family/loved ones being injured or killed or your home burning down. It's gotta be YOU that makes the best decision for your circumstances, and you get to decide where you fall on this. I hope this makes sense. P.P.S. There's a LOT of lipos in your house already, you just probably don't know about it ;) P.P.P.S. We're just about to add 27.2 kWh batteries to our house for a "whole house" backup system. They'll be Lithium iron phosphate (chemical formula: LiFePO4) batteries, rather than LIPO - which is less likely to have a "run-away" fire. They will be in a special room...which we don't talk about publicly ;)

@@BrianPhillipsRC LOL never seen the P.P.S and P.P.P.S. (pretty good). Agree with everything you're saying. I also fly a bunch and sometimes I get those wrecks where the battery gets ejected, or a bit crunched, but still works. Those are tough to discard when you're looking at $60-$90 bucks per pack. Thanks for all the good info.
