This is why I used a separate receiver battery, no matter how much weight it adds.

Hallo there Well did you find out what the problem was. It did happen to me 4 times now in flight with the gear up. Did replace all 4 servos on the wing and now it did it again....like yours. I FOund out after I was able to land it that the ruder servo was going nuts.
@robertwong24122 жыл бұрын
When you hit the landing gear, it starts pulling amps from the bec. This takes powers away from other servos if the bec couldn't supply constant 5v even though it's switch mode (I hope it is). Count the number of servos you have and the landing gear and you could expect the amp draw to likely exceed what the BEC is capable of putting out. My advice to anyone flying jets with retracts and servos exceeding 3 (especially standard servos) is to get a separate dedicated bec. Don't rely on the one in the ESC. Especially digital servos, they eat up amps. Failure to supply constant 5v could cause your servo to fail or receiver to brown out.

Thats full right rudder deflection.... I think the servo went crazy when you hit the retracts.... what radio are you using?
@RCPlaneReviewer3 жыл бұрын
Your probably right about this didn't think about that 🤔
@neilhands17082 жыл бұрын
Possibly the servos. I've just got mine last week and put it together yesterday, three servo fails before I even maiden it: Rudder servo and one gear door servo not working on initial test, other gear door servo started violently fluttering and then stopped working entirely. Servo's must be crap on it and I'm now apprehensive to fly it in case another one goes. Changing all the servos looks like a major operation due to poor access.

This is for the pilot, there are a lot of comments, I want you to remember when you hit the landing gear you had nothing, your control surfaces were locked and you had no throttle no up elevator no ailerons no rudder, the rudder was locked in a solid position because when you have a brown out any control surface can get locked in one position but at the time you can't do anything to counter the out-of-control plane or jet because you don't have any control of it. Always remember you tried to save it but no control surface would work.

Brown out! I'd be willing to bet you don't have a separate BEC. without one sometimes there will be to much draw when you hit the landing gear which causes a brown out.
@manicfour2 жыл бұрын
Explain to me please. I have a MiG29 and ive read something about too much draw when operating the landing gear at the end that results in a crash. It has two BEC'S. One is for thrust of one fan and the other for the other along power for the blue box as well. So do I meed to somehow add another smaller battery to power the blue box alone?
@rickythrower58922 жыл бұрын
@@manicfour I have a freewing MiG-29, All RC craft have only one BEC, it is either built into the ESC or you have a separate BEC. Most of us who have been in the hobby for a long time run a outside BEC so that if the ESC fails you still have flight control of your RC aircraft. Also a outside BEC will have a veritable voltage so that if you need more voltage for landing gear lights flaps and so on you will have more voltage when needed saving you from a brown out. Outside BEC's are easy to install, I typically use Castle or ZTW from motion RC

So if you fly 2 planes side by side to see which is faster fully loaded with ordnance, does that make it a drag race?

No it makes it a race with an airplane with less drag lol 🤣

I don't understand ,why after each crash, the pilot will not assume responsibility. If it was a technical issue or the pilots flying skills, it's still their responsibility !! I have the same jet. I found that the set screws that are used on the ailerons were so loose that the pushrod could slip and even pull out. This is not the manufacturers responsibility it's yours ! All a.r.f models should be thoroughly ,mechanically inspected prior first flight. Most, If not all, a.r.f. models are so poorly assembled, they will fail.
@RCPlaneReviewer3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you to have to check everytime you go up, but people don't do this, and it's human nature for you to be in disbelief or if you can't explain what happened to blame some type of failure. By the way this isn't a ARF this was a PNP. Arfs are typically balsa planes with no servos motor engines etc. This came plug n play servos and motor installed you just add your radio equipment and batteries. Thanks for watching!!
