You know what I really love about these voice lines? It’s that most of them illustrate how Sun was never meant to be a Daycare attendant in the first place. He’s clearly impatient and rude, a far cry from what child caretakers should be, and he demands absolute perfection, which is something that toddlers are absolutely incapable of. Sun was supposed to be a theater-performing animatronic (as revealed in one of the FNAF books), and it shows. He demands perfection because it’s what he demands of himself, and in some of his lines he even starts sounding like a Shakespeare actor, with lines like “You lack VISION” and “Avant-garde!” He puts such a stress on perfect art because that’s what he’s REALLY all about. Of course he wouldn’t be suited for this role, it wasn’t in his original programming. I’m really glad that Steel Wool decided to show this side of him here instead of just alluding to it in a Tales from the Pizzaplex story. I mean, as if I couldn’t love this psychotic scrunkly even more.

Though this is our first instance of him dealing with an adult, an employee no less. He seemed happy to let Gregory do whatever he wanted previously, and judging by his sad song in Ruin he genuinely likes to take care of kids. It's possible he actually just really hates Fazbear employees lol, and perhaps for good reason.

I had similar thoughts! The vr is clearly a training for new employees. So it's obvious that the player is being perceived/presented as an adult. At least virtually. That and the whole time we are close to eye level with Sun. It doesn't seem like the player model is a kid. At least, not in the simulation anyway. So this could very well be how Sun is with employees, very snippy and mean. 😂

​@butternutcrunch him hating fazbear employees make SO much sense. in the books, fazbear entertainment could've been able to remove Moon entirely but didn't because it costs too much money. or maybe they could've rebooted them and merged them into Eclipse like in Ruin. but they didn't because they are an awful company, so it makes sense that Sun would have a grudge against them. plus he's going completely unpaid.

Something interesting to highlight here is how Sun isn’t mortified of Moon, despite how the fandom sees him to be. Through sassy remarks and whatnot, he addresses the idea of turning the lights off a couple of times and even THREATENS "Do it again and you're taking a nap". Even if he probably means the whole "I should turn off the lights myself" as a joke, I hope. Also how he's willing to stay alone for the sake of keeping himself safe or keeping you safe. Not sure.

Okay so..here's my thing, maybe he's only scared because he doesn't want to go away and warns you to not turn off the lights, and plus they were both fighting to be in control when sun was on the desk, but I don't think he's really scared of moon other than that. I'd have to disagree because of his mutterings of "never...work...in the dark" and "you'll, um...hurt your eyes....if you work in the dark" and the "we REALLY need to finish before nap time." Sun still is adamant that Moon doesn't wake up- period. For the most part, he doesn't want anything bad to really happen to you, considering the lines of not eating the crafts (I personally, think he's joking in all scenarios but the "do it again, and you're taking a nap" line. In that circumstance you've completely pissed him off.) Moon has done SOMETHING that Sun has knows about, or Sun knows his other half well enough to know that Moon intends to cause bad things to happen. OR because of the old theatre memories and some key parts of them that weren't removed, he thinks Moon really is true evil since that's what their stage show personas were: Sun the good, Moon the evil.

Sun is 100% terrified of Moon, it's just unclear exactly why. The transformation seems extremely painful, so maybe he just hates the feeling itself. Maybe he's just afraid of being forced into what might essentially be a temporary coma while the other half is present. Or maybe he genuinely does know that Moon is outright evil and WILL kill you, and he wants to prevent it... though I find it very weird that Sun himself will actually kill you in this minigame if the timer goes out, which seems out of character.

Notice how Sun says, “HE’LL wake up!” To me this is definitive evidence that Sun and Moon are definitely two separate people/AI. They’ve both referred to the other now as a separate being, Moon in ruin telling Sun to “Its time for YOUR nap, no more Sun!” So I believe canonically Sun and Moon are in fact two different people who share a body.

Sun seems to flip flop a little on if Moon is him or not. In Ruin, if you try to reset him he'll go "Not ME! The other Me!" So where he stands on seeing Moon as separate is a little iffy.

I think there's a few ways this could be interpreted. Saying "he'll wake up" could also be a figure of speech. My mom would always say mama bear came out after 10pm, referring to how she'd get cranky if we were noisy. It could also be a way to distance himself from the behavior, since he loses control then and doesn't want to acknowledge that it's himself. Personally, I tend to prefer the two AIs in one frame angle, and it seems to be what's implied narratively, but it still isn't definitive. It's such an internal condition, so it's not easy to prove without more direct confirmation.

I feel like I’d get the full brunt of his sassy attitude. Also, it confirms that Sun is 100% a theatre kid, which ya know, I already knew deep down but like, I’m glad they made it canon (he was supposed to be in the theatre after all)

Maybe they were meant to do plays and such, or comedy?

These voice lines, with Sun's newfound sassiness and such, make me realize something. The primary reason Sun wants the lights on is, besides your well-being, so that Moon doesn't steal his turn in the spotlight. HE wants to be the center of attention, not Moon. Think about it. Most of the time a full-functioning Daycare Attendant animatronic has shifted from Sun to Moon is when Sun is having a fun time with YOU, those times being in the Daycare and in Arts and Crafts. He wants the lights on so you'll only spend time with HIM. This is only my personal opinion tho. Y'all think whatever you want.

I'll be honest, not only hearing more of Sun makes me feel better because of how underated in the lore he is, but also it gives me more thoughts of him (and moon, or just the daycare attendant) have more questions, like why in the jumpscare he haves the red pupils of Moon with one eye off-color? How is it possible that the identity of Eclipse exist with that hidden endoskeleton teeth and the glowing arms? Maybe it's explained in help wanted 2 but I'll wait for full gameplay with no commentary on it lol. Anyways, I wish there could be even more information about him, just like others who deserves it like Vanny.

OH OH!! I’ve been thinking about the eclipse form and I have a few theories- Maybe it has something to do with him being a previous theater animatronic. Sun and moon were obviously supposed to Eclipse originally and we don’t see the weird faz-wrench thing that makes him whole on him in the original games so it’s possible Fazbear Entertainment could’ve been trying to fix him, but didn’t take that next step and abandoned it. The glowing arms could be to help incase the lights went off or to see him better on stage during the show when he was a theatre animatronic. Just a lil thing I think, I didn’t look too into it so things may be a bit inaccurate or pieces I’m missing.

I kinda think about this a lot. I think that maybe in the theatre show they were supposed to be in, Sun was supposed to be a ‘good guy’ character in a way, and Moon was the ‘bad guy’ character, but at the end of the show they come together to solve their differences and form to cause the Eclipse, because they BOTH had flaws and good traits that only when they formed Eclipse they brought the good and bad in each other out, this teaching a moral to the kids. But, ya know, Fazbear ditched the theatre idea and turned them into Daycare Attendants, so they were never able to form their ‘Eclipse’. It explains why they wanted to get rid of Moon after they took them out of the theatre and simply hand waved him as a glitch in Sun’s system, yet why they were built this way in the first place and what Sun means when he says they’re meant to be ‘whole’. I was gonna write a fanfiction about it, but figured people wouldn’t be interested in it. People in the DCA fandom seem to only really like comics, and I can’t really draw 😓

there's previous voicelines about how it's almost naptime so the lights are gonna go out, so I'm guessing that the longer you take with the art the darker the room gets. And since his sounds a lot more like Moon's here, I'm getting he said that with Moon's influence kinda (did I explain that ok)

I think these types of voice lines are when Sun gets too angry and his patience is running out. This can be confirmed a bit when he says "I should turn off the lights myself"

@Sundrop-hi1jw oh yeah, but there's a lot of evidence to suggest that he isnt talking to a child here. Instead he's talking to a fazbear employe who he needs to pretend is a child for beta testing. This explains why he's acting so different. Sun got pretty aggressive at Gregory, but he never threatened to turned the lights out. So I think its clear he treats adults diffrent to how he treats children.

I've seen a lot of people thrown off or disappointed by the "new personality" Sun gives off in these voice lines, but I think people are struggling to understand that this is what he's always been like. He's always been off kilter, treating the player with impatience or lashing out when things don't go his way- hell, in the first SB game he even goes as far as to yell at Gregory, a _child_ , and slam doors in his face for making a ruckus at the daycare. I'd say that the player being an adult in this game could explain his nature, but in one of his lines he berates you and calls you a "bad kid" (though, I am still willing to believe that being the player has some part in the way he treats you). Also, with all the times we've seen Sun previously, he was afraid or desperately trying to get help from you and acted... well, not _kinder_ per se, but less snappy and more deserving of pity. Here, he has no reason to plead with you or be extra nice (not until the lights go off anyways), it's just a matter of completing what he assigns you. If you do things right, then Sun will genuinely praise you and compliment your work- if you don't, then he'll just say "skill issue, get good" Even if Moon is the meaner of the two, Sun has always had his flaws all the same- that's why Eclipse exists as the solution to the problems from both sides.

I've always seen him this way, and I agree. People COMPLETELY missed the small ques that tell us what he was really like because they were too distracted by the design and fanbase growing. They ignored his sass and easy temper fuse to focus on his anxiousness and how sad he looks when Gregory hides from him. (Which I think people misinterpreted as him being upset Gregory was gone or he lost a friend when in reality it might just be because he lost his chance at not being isolated and having something else to do rather than clean or talk to himself (something I do when isolated)) In reality, I don't think Sun was very nice. I could pick it up from his subtle social ques and unused lines (I didn't know to what extent, but I knew all the less) People treated Sun the same way people treated Papyrus. Moon was the fan favorite, so was Sans. Sun was still loved but to a lesser extent, so was Papyrus. And the fandom ruined BOTH of their personalities! (Ehm, in my opinion) I like meaner Sun, he scratches that itch in my brain that had been missing since the start of the fanbase. I hope so see more mean Sun in the future. ❤

I begin to theorize that Sun has radical behavior around adults unlike how he behaves around children. Although Sun is kind (as long as you obey him or do not abuse his patience) he will be a friend who sticks to the rules but in order to entertain, have fun with you and try to keep Moon from waking up. With adults... I couldn't say the same, maybe with them he doesn't have as much tolerance, they had to do something bad to him for him to get stressed so easily.

​​​@@kyripiro224 Honestly, I think it's just a game mechanic so the animators didn't have to do more work for Sun's bit. Keep in it simple and all, since there was a whole lot more to be done in the game. But, it is quite fun to entertain the thought of these guys really taking their theatric personas seriously by doing magical things sometimes, for the kids or others they deem worthy to entertain. Actually, now that you mention it, this reminds me of a fic I read recently, where Sun and Moon are princes but act like unsuspecting jesters at first, putting on a show for the plethora of their potential suitors by using magical powders and what not to make things appear/ disappear, or craft up illusions. I can't wait to see what the fandom comes up with by using this little tidbit, both for lore and for fanfic!
