The reason why critics are hard on this movie is because they thought of it more as a horror movie while us fnaf fans know damn well its a thriller movie. Horror movies just try to scare you as much as possible that's why the story sucks in horror movies and thrillers pay more attention on the story and then scares.

My favourite part of this song is just how well it meshes the main melody of the angelic choir of children, 80's style synth and the mechanical sounds of pistons moving and robots shifting as the first part of the beat drop's percussion. Chef's kiss. And then you add in the 8-bit animation of William luring the 5 kids away, with each of the children looking like the actual kids seen later, and knowing that we learned of the murders in this 8-bit style, and 8-bit kind of being the calling card of a child/children dying, absolutely beautiful, it tells the story to the people who know without a drop of blood, and it sets up the story for the revelation at the end for those who don't. I study music, but I can tell you, I don't need my experience in music theory to certify this as a masterpiece.

@gringusgaming
@gringusgaming 7 ай бұрын
It did not need to be a total gore fest but to truly encapsulate everything it most certainly would need to be rated R. Keep in mind that Five Nights at Freddy's was not originally intended to be a totally child friendly intellectual property, that is something it sort of morphed into over time. A lot of the things shown in FNAF are only really acceptable for children to witness because they are shown through low fidelity pixel art, and even then it gets a bit gruesome. Regardless, they did a great job given the restrictions

Unfortunately, that's how films are meant to be reviewed. Based on their objective qualities as standalone films rather than the subjective feelings of fanbases. As a film outside the FNAF universe, it's a 6-7/10 at best, but to FNAF fans that have been with the series for almost a decade, it's an easy 9-10/10. Myself, I've been with the series since the first game and it was everything I could have hoped for in a FNAF movie.

This movie really did have everything. Scenes that included comedy, thrill, crime and with this theme also science fiction. It was everything but horror. Somehow I liked that mix. But a little bit more horror would be good for a possible next movie.
