And with the way that security breach has been we can’t even confirm if Cassie being dropped in the elevator is canon and if she even died when the elevator fell

I think I understand (maybe) do you guys remember when Candy Cadet said the story? and when Cassie found the mimic she said " you're not Gregory , who are you ?" then the mimic said "i-i'm Gregory".. doesn't that give you a ring when SB comes out? that mimic at the end was the monster in the story so he was watching us all the time and copy Gregory voice so he can trick Cassie and let her think that Gregory needs help to escape but in the fact that the mimic wants to go free not Greg and plus Gregory escape with Vanessa and (maybe) Freddy

I still think the Mimic tricked Cassie in the elevator. It either interrupted the signal and took over the conversation or Gregory never got into contact with Cassie in the first place and it was all just the Mimic being sadistic. I'm seeing that almost no one paid attention to this info. Technically, Roxy is the key to the basement, a security measure in case the pizzaplex shuts down and as a result, she was made to see through walls and in this case, floors. Meaning, she knows pretty much a lot of bad things happening in the pizzaplex. As a result, she was able to quickly go after Cassie and save her from the mimic.

I think the mimic has a part of glitchtrap's code, and because of that it also has access to the pizzaplex meaning it had the voice record of everything(since The Mimic say "I-Im.. Gregory" the first maybe second dialogue of Gregory) . The fact that the mimic mimicked gregory's voice in the entire game meaning the mimic also has access to the V.A.N.N.I mask since "Gregory" vanished the entity in the game for a few moment, and later when Gregory stated that he was trying to contact Cassie the whole night it also means the mimic is jammed the connection between Gregory and Cassie the game

I personally believe that it's able to hack cameras and it was able to watch Gregory. But Gregory was already jumpy and it couldn't lure Gregory using Freddy's voice because Gregory would just call Freddy to him. That's the only explanation that I can come up with and that's also most likely how it was keeping an eye on Cassie. It likely didn't use Cassie's voice because Gregory already knew she was safely home.

Gregory doesn't speak to Cassie directly until the end of the game, where he explains that he was never in the Pizzaplex and she was tricked. He then directs her towards an elevator where she manages to sever one of the Mimic's hands, and then explains that the entity she kept seeing in the AR world was meant to keep the Mimic contained, but she freed it. The Mimic then cuts him off, posing as him, and says it's not her fault (something Gregory likely would have said anyway), but that they can't let her be followed.
