Let me tell you a story...
Growing up, I had my Persona be the overpowered, best version of me, and I would show that off in Role Playing sessions. Normal, right? But, I was never the kindest to her outside the roleplays. She was...hurt. A lot. By myself. And she could take it. Because I thought I could take it. And sometimes, that same feeling I got were like those same feelings I had when I had intrusive thoughts toward myself. Those feelings of being fake and not good enough. And I thought "better her than me".
But, I've grown up since then. I've learned to be kinder to myself. That's why my new persona is called The Rising Demon. They aren't the best person. They never were. But, they are trying to be better. And I'm using them to learn to be much nicer to myself. Because I'm still trying. And I know I might never get it fully right. But I've made progress.
So I guess you can say that this song takes place in the very beginning of their conception. lol, i guess.
