Something that I’ve realized about Senpai’s design (not to discredit this one) is that he faces forwards not just because he is a dating sim character but also because he doesn’t see The Boyfriend as competition. He is focusing on impressing Girlfriend. Once he realizes it’s not working he looks at him but doesn’t face him because one this is a game with limited poses and two he doesn’t want people to see him breaking character. (Although it’s not working). These sprites might work for him being outside of the game or against other characters.
