I prefer the old because they took the liberty to give him both normal glitched sprites AND alt sprites for everything (including the idle) to make him look more interesting. Also something about the new sprites look really weird but I can’t tell what, I just generally prefer the older ones.

Fact: the old one was actually a Leak image so they made it but they probably didn’t have any ideas for the other poses except up and down so they probably used you can’t run sonic exes poses for left and right.
