TheRepublic bad for the environment
@zareh8057 жыл бұрын
TheRepublic the "jobs" argument is the argument that corporations construct so you to get on on board. It has to appear to be friendly to the public. Unfortunately for Trump, these are not the old days. We live in the present with new issues. All of these orders are in favor of corporate profit. The true motives for these projects have nothing to do with American jobs. I'm confident that these companies are not constructing pipelines so they can create jobs. They can care less. If it was up to them all the work would be automated, which they will be soon, so they wouldn't have to pay anybody.
@shechshire7 жыл бұрын
+Zareh Kantzabedian "If it was up to them all the work would be automated, which they will be soon, so they wouldn't have to pay anybody." Your comment is laughable at best. Do you even realize how automation and I.T. works? Some one has to engineer, program, maintain, & supervise the operation. Engineers and computer programmers aren't cheap buddy. See... Those people have something called a college degree and must be paid much more than a manual labor employees. In order for corporations to make money, they first need to make jobs. The relationship IS BINARY. You can't have income without hiring someone first. This is at the core of capitalism.

Pipelines are amazing if built with the best techonology and the highest enviornmentalist standards... what is causing the spills is OLD pipeline infrastructure that needs to be replaced.

@llawnroc58797 жыл бұрын
Everyone agrees.. humans contribute to climate change. As the evidence stands, after 18 years of slight temperature rises and more than double the C02, Humans are not, and I repeat NOT the driving factor. CO2 is generally good for plant life, you can review the greening of the Earth for the last 30ish years. There are other reasons why Oil production can be harmful but generally speaking the pro's out number the cons. Good move by Trump, cheers!

This pipeline is actually used to transfer Canadian oil. The pipeline already exists. This particular project is to make the pipeline shorter, by taking a shortcut through U.S territory. Specifically through the Northern High Plains Aquifer system. American citizens DO NOT benefit from this at all. Canada gets all this money. Many U.S senators (including members of Trump's cabinet and Trump himself) also stand to benefit directly from the deal as they own shares in companies involved in both the Keystone XL and Dakota Access projects, which are blatant conflicts of interest. Again, this provides ZERO economical benefit to American citizens Furthermore, these are EXECUTIVE ORDERS. Things we all criticized Obama for doing. This is a president over-stepping his checks and balances

Grace Bertrand Why not sell your car and never use anything made with petroleum then, which is near everything you own from the tiles on your roof to the parts in your tv and shoes. Just post the time stamp of the video.

The Dakota Access Pipeline does not cross the Standing Rock Sioux reservation, even at the portion of the pipeline that is the subject of dispute at Lake Oahe. In developing the route, the United States Army Corps of Engineers alone held 389 meetings with 55 tribes regarding the Dakota Access project. In addition, the U.S. Army Corps reached out to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe nearly a dozen times to discuss archaeological and other surveys conducted before finalizing the Dakota Access route. Notably, Lake Oahe already contains eight other pipelines uneventfully operating adjacent to the path of the Dakota Access Pipeline, as well as one high-voltage electric transmission line. DAPL crosses at least 95 feet below the bottom of Lake Oahe, and at points, up to 115 feet below. The Missouri River in North Dakota already is traversed by eight pipelines that safely transport energy products every day. And the tribe’s water intake is scheduled to be moved later this year to a spot roughly 70 miles from the Dakota Access Pipeline’s river crossing.
@troy30377 жыл бұрын

i can only pray that president trump and his team takes the time to fly out to the area of the proposed DAPL and meet with native american leaders to listen to their concerns and ensure they don't spoil their reservation or dishonor their burial grounds. this matters so so much. and let's not forget the cowboy, lavoy finicum, who died at the hands of a rogue fbi team fighting against blm land grabs. he should pardon the cowboys and halt the aggressive attacks on the native americans in North Dakota regarding dapl as well. both cowboys and indians deserve time and attention from our new president. just my op.

this is the one thing that I disagree with Trump on. They can bloody well move the DAPL pipeline over so that it does not got over the national parkland or former reservation land on the Missouri River by the Indians Reservation. The current location of the DAPL over the area near the reservation. If this pipeline goes anywhere near they river where the reservation is, I will be unhappy. We owe these native nations and the Iowa farmers that had land taken from them by eminent domain an apology and their lands returned. No more eminent domain for private companies. They did not wait until it was by the river to protest, they have been protesting for 9 months or more.

If we buy only what we build then we will create an integrated and prosperous economy. We should not install wind mills across the country that were manufactured in foreign countries or we will go broke. The long term payoff on renewable energy is too long to afford higher priced windmills from foreign monopolies. Bullet trains, windmills, photovoltaics should all be American made in America. No one wants to mention there is already 7 other pipelines in that area and not at a safe distance from the water supply, with old installations. This pipeline is new, modern, with better technology, 115 ft below the sea bed underground covered by sand and clay. Btw not nowhere near the reservation they claim it runs through. SOmeone needs to get real. This whole issue is about money and who profits from the pipeline access. Not global warming or worries of the water being at risk etc..

How do you think you get your gas for your stove? There are gas pipes, water pipes, and electrical pipes and tunnels under your cities already. That's the different between Trump and most people. Most people only see parts of perspective. Trump see the whole perspective.
