Sparring with Bokken can be a pretty tricky business, Wooden bokken can hurt a lot and cause a lot of damage and injuries. You can either train at 20% with lots on care, but you won't get the feline got going full pelt. The answer is to get one of these Foam Bokken and you can practice sparring drills with much more comfort than with wood bokken. This is a great option. You can go much harder than is possible than with wooden bokken.

2:30 indicates a plastic core, but the product page indicates wood. Is this something that changed over time? What is the current construction? And if wood, how much impact is or is not absorbed? It seems that, while the foam padding might help, sparring should still be restrained.

I actually got mine today, and I have to say I was disappointed one came broken and the other one broke when I tried sparring with it ... like within the first couple minutes and it was against the other foam bokken, and I really don’t even spar that hard

@@majesticidk1153 I ended up getting the cold steel bokken, it was way better it definitely hurts more but not as bad as the wooden bokken and it does bend a bit when you get to intense sparing but it’s not like game breaking or whatever 😂
