Yes, absolutely, all of the foam planks and ceiling tiles can be used in the bathrooms as well as outdoors. They are fully moisture resistant.

The furring strips will not give enough support area. I’d recommend attaching foam sheet boards (eps or xps foam insulation sheets) and then glueing the foam tiles onto that surface.

Yes, the foam tiles can be glued directly to the 12"x12" acoustical tiles as long as those 12x12" tiles are in good condition and are being held well by their screw or suspension system. The adhesive recommended for the foam tiles will adhere well to the 12"x12" acoustical tiles.

You can purchase this adhesive from Antique Ceilings Inc. Link: www.antiqueceilings.com/oscommerce/index.php?cPath=28_76 In the video it might be old packaging of this adhesive vs what is currently shown on the selling website. It is European brand adhesive that is specifically made for these foam tiles and planks. It is very fast setting and works great.

Can these tiles be painted with spray paint? Or will the paint dissolve ( melt ) the tiles? Thank you

Only water-based paints can be used. Aerosol paints (spray can paints) are not water based as they require solvents and those solvents will destroy the foam tiles. I'd recommend using a regular interior paint (Behr brand, Valspar, PPG, etc...) and a good quality brush or roller for textured surfaces. The painting actually goes pretty well even on the 3-d tiles.

mild cleanser (soapy water) can be used if necessary. Painting also can be done with any water based paints.

These foam tiles are produced and sold all over Europe where the building codes are much stricter than here in USA. This is a decorative product but it is a different type of foam than what most people imagine when thinking of foam or styrofoam (portable coolers that have round beads). The tiles/planks are made from Polystyrene foam which is a different foam cell construction (no small beads). This also gives it different properties than regular styrofoam. If still concerned regarding cleaning, rigidity, or fire rating properties, you may consider using PVC ceiling tiles.
