It is unlikely that the eggs will hatch at this point. We have no way of knowing why. It could be environmental, such as temperatures, humidity percentages, oxygen levels at high altitude, etc. It could be biological with something just being off at the time the eggs were created. It is very unlikely that either Jackie or Shadow are infertile since they have already had 2 sets of chicks together - in 2019 and 2022.
When eggs don’t hatch, Jackie and Shadow may start withdrawing from incubation eventually (they usually over incubate for several weeks, details can be found in our Activity Log). Withdrawal is always a process and it happens gradually with longer and longer breaks. Shadow may be a little bit more stubborn than Jackie (this is something we have observed in the past). Left unattended, the eggs may eventually be scavenged by ravens or other animals. The nest cameras are live 24/7/366 weather and maintenance permitting.

Love the beauty of nature along with the strength and endurance of our beautiful eagles. I watch them throughout the day, and they are calming to me. We can learn a lot from Cali and FOBBV (especially if we read), but over the years I’ve also learned much just by watching these two. Yes I’m sure we all would have liked to see the eggs hatch, but it’s all part of nature. As we can see from this channel and FOBBV, these two magnificent eagles carry on with life and just get on with it. There are no tears or sadness, they do what comes naturally to them and it’s a joy to watch. God bless our eagles, and may God bless each and every one who is a part of this wonderful community. Beautiful video, Cali. I'm so happy to see them together a lot. This morning, I watched how last night went for Jackie. She stayed on the frontporch most of the night. Contemplating, I suppose. Thank you so much for the highlights of the day. This weekend, I've needed to spend more time on my studies. Haven't been able to watch J&S as much as I'd like to. ~ That crazy stick that Jackie brought was something else, though. ~ It's nice to know that Shadow still loves Jackie ~ That was kind of funny that Shadow was startled by Jackie's arrival ~ It's so cute watching them sleep.

The sunset is beautiful! Jackie and Shadow are giving it all they've got! They are amazing and definitely are not quitters. My heart aches for them. Just look at them. Not trying to be rude, I don't if people aren't reading the info that the posters give but there's some that keeps asking when the eggs are going to hatch and I know it's been said plenty of times that they aren't going to hatch and why, But they still continue to ask.

Sorry if it makes you sad, but they are doing what comes naturally. They will try again next year as she is only fertile during certain months. So enjoy the beauty and love we are blessed to witness…

RB--pretty much Yes. Esp. if they are regularly laying Eggs and hatching them to fledge. Some Pairs(like J & S) are super in love with each other and can endure a number of hardships togethe and makes their Love stronger as time goes on. others not so much that affectionate but are driven by natural urge to Procreate.

Jackie was with Mr B until Shadow showed up and they got together. They don’t mate for life, but it’s my wish that these two will stay together. From what I’ve seen, I can’t imagine them breaking up but it’s not up to us.

From what I have read, yes they do mate for life unless another eagle comes to challenge and take a mate. The FOBBV website talks about how Shadow did this very same thing. Jackie's original mate was Mr. B, Shadow challenged and chased him away and took Jackie as his mate.

It looks like they are starting to give up. Jackie showed up at TS 16:20, looked at the eggs and took off again. Then later she arrives with fluff, Shadow takes off, she puts the fluff in the nest, and then figures, what’s the point, and flies off again.

Not necessarily, Jackie was with another male before Shadow. I do believe these two will stay together, but that’s just because I want to believe it. So the short answer is “no”.
