So, I left clothes in my washing machine for a little over a day, I had forgot, so they had that nasty smell so I washed them a few times using tide and the smell didn't go away, they were a few of my favorite shirts so I didn't want to throw them away, anyway I had family over for a few weeks and seen foca, alot of soap cheap, so I bought it, used it on my clothes and it took the smell away, I don't like the smell of foca out of the bag but it took the smell out of my shirts, then I used tide again it has a better aroma, so 2 👍🏽 👍🏽 thumbs up for foca, it kills bacteria and smells for sure , Roma maybe I'll try in the future

You’re welcome & sadly it’s not just laundry detergent. For most consumer products, the quality has decreased but companies slowly make changes so that people don’t notice & so they are able to ride on the quality of what their name is. It’s honestly ridiculous

Hint you can buy a box of TSP powder for a few dollars and add a tablespoon or two to every wash load. Suddenly the detergents clean like they did in the past.

@@diedonner299 I already got some here. So silly they pulled phosphates out of detergents. It wasn't detergents used by the public that were causing all the foaming back in the day. It was companies dumping their phosphate laden wastes into a rivers and lakes.

There's another Mexican made brand called Ariel at my Walmart. I'm open to giving these a try, as choices for powder detergents are rapidly dwindling away. My all time favorite Cheer is no longer being made in powder form. For some reason I always thought Foca was a white colored detergent, not aqua blue. Powder detergents leave less spotting IMO.

Hi, I'm new to your channel . Having lived in Mexico and having my washer break within 3 months, I had to learn to hand wash. I would soak in these powdered detergents ,then I would have to use zote bar soap to hand wash with ALOT of elbow great lol. Thanks for doing a comparison like this. P.S. In Mexico, Roma can also be used to wash dishes. My in laws had a open bag of it outside their store by the sink to wash your hands. Its a cheap multi purpose soap in Mexico.

My husband and I used Foca. It makes our laundry come out feeling clean and smelling fresh. Luckily, we don't manage to squirt huge loads of mustard, chocolate or other stuff on our clothes, so that's not an issue. I mean, I guess if huge food stains is not a problem in your household, it works well for just normal yuck from being worn and body odor.

I use Roma and add a TBSP of a mixture of 50/50 Borax and baking soda to the water before adding the clothes. Works fine for us. We are sensitive to smells and soap since Covid, and this doesn’t irritate our noses or skin. I do wish the scent was a little heavier. Also, I do a pre soak in a white fine gallon for heavily soiled clothes.

Have you found a detergent with phosphates. The old detergents pre 1990s ? Those detergents worked phenomenal. No comparison to even the best detergents of today
@thecleanpsycho
@thecleanpsycho 8 ай бұрын
No, but if you wanted to add the phosphate you could order a bag of “Sodium Tripolyphosphate” on Amazon for around $15. A little goes a long way so it’ll last you a while, but it can damage the ecosystem in lakes & streams which is why it has been removed from laundry detergent. If you wanted to use it, I’d just be cautious and do a little research about the water system near you. There is also another form of phosphate (trisodium phosphate), but it’s a lot more expensive online. Sometimes I add 1/4 cup of washing Soda (not baking soda) or 1/4 cup of borax and it really does make a difference so I’d recommend trying those options. But, I don’t use either of these 2 detergents these days. My current go to is “9 elements laundry detergents”. Hope this helps!

Surprised there was not much difference even on hot which was nearing 50C. I really wonder if the water is sufficient. You say you can get away with less detergent with the precise setting. What if you used twice more water and the same detergent quantity. You used 60gm which I think is more than enough. I just can't believe these detergents are this bad or maybe those stains are just hard to shift. They are staples in Mexico, where the temperature is hot and people sweat a lot.

@@thecleanpsycho the way you have it now at 72h or so is realistic. 4-8h will not be hard to remove for most detergents. That has been my experience. And most people won't do laundry that fast. You could test this in a video on its own. Stain set for 4-8h vs. 72h and a week. The last two I expect to be similar. The first two will separate detergents that are only good for light to medium soil vs. heavy

I used foca , roma, and nieve?. I like em for some of these phosphorus free. I have blended one brand alone with the laundry soap and added borax to the wash. @thecleanpsycho
@thecleanpsycho 4 ай бұрын
Honestly, one of my favorite cheap detergents that others have said when I recommend it for them works well, is the Ajax laundry detergent. You can normally find it at Walmart for $1.78! I am going to do a cheap detergent shoot out which at moment will probably be between: This Ajax detergent, (p.s. there are other Ajax detergents that cost varying prices. Today I picked up this version of Ajax that cost $5.99 but it came in a large jug so I didn't mind getting it). But the $1.78 Ajax, the $2.34 Foca Liquid, $1.00 La's totally Awesome Brand, $1.00 Xtra, & $3.44 tide simply. The tide isn't the cheapest but considering that some variation of the tide simply line have enzymes in them like the "Tide simple oxi" variation contains subtilisin & amylase, makes it worth the price a little. Plus that tide is normally on sale for a little cheaper at my local Kroger so I think it is fitting to add it. Sorry for the long response but a quick go to is the Ajax at Walmart for $1.78. If you have a fragrance allergy though, I would try the Tide simply Free & sensitive, if it's on sale.

Is foca he safe ? I can't seem to get a straight answer.
@thecleanpsycho
@thecleanpsycho 10 ай бұрын
Well, safe is a very subjective term. It is safe for most septic systems, it does not contain phosphates so it's better for the environment than detergents that contain phosphate (which almost all detergents sold in the United States do not contain phosphates). For the the ingredients list, I haven't found a specific chemical that is carcinogenic nor have I found any studies that have proven that using this detergent can increase your chances of getting cancer. There are "Green Laundry detergent" websites that demonize this product, but I always take them with a grain of salt because I don't consider the overwhelming majority of those websites to be credible sources. This product does contain fragrance, so that can have the potential to cause allergic contact dermatitis, but that goes for any laundry detergent that contains fragrance so you would have to try it yourself to see if you have an allergic reaction. The Foca powder tested in the video is not labeled a High Efficiency (HE) detergent, so depending on your washer machine, it could void the warranty if you use too much of this and it caused the machine to have issues. With most powder detergents, I use 1/4 a cup and add an extra rinse cycle, and I haven't had any issues. Also, 2 ingredients that I try to avoid in laundry detergent because they have been clinically proven by dermatologist to cause allergic contact dermatitis are methylisothiazolinone and methylchloroisothiazolinone. This Foca powder detergent does not contain either so, overall in my opinion (which feel free to continue to do your research) this is a safe detergent to use as long as you don't have an allergic reaction to the fragrance compounds in this detergent. Again that is the risk you take with any detergent that contains fragrance. Hope this helps! 👍
