6:07 I love the design of them, you cannot complain about any high end Focal’s. However these detachable panels do look a bit……….rustic. I could live with it, but just a thought and my humble opinion, at £30k the material could have been finished a little better.

I wonder how they perform against Beolab 50 ? That’s probably at the moment the only competitor this speaker has ?

It depends I suppose. If you're adding to an existing B&O system or surround sound on a B&O TV then the Beolab 50 still makes sense. If I was buying from the start, as much as I've enjoyed many listening sessions with Beolab 50, I'd choose the Focal Diva Utopia. Excellent streamer built in, AB amplification, HDMI eARC give them the edge, I love the human touch room compensation too. Not only do they sound awesome they cost significantly less than B&O. - John.

@@Peter-Tyson yes john BnO are a bit overpriced these days . I just set up a used system a Clear audio Master solution turntable , Koetsu rosewood signature cartridge Sonus Faber Amati tradition homage A Devialet pro 1000 amp, Dac , streamer and pre amp I put a project signature 12 on the clear audio Not sure I will work the Tiownshend super teeters in But I’ve put one of me BnO cd players into the system The whole system was 30.5 k New it would be around 65 k Beolab 5s are now nearly 50 k And easily 30 k or more depending on spec used . I just thought you know what BnO is great I love it but pound for pound traditional HIFI wins but of course BnO ain’t aiming to do that I still have my Beolab 9s and Beocenter 2 , Beogram 3300 set up in another room and two Beovisions plus accompanying speakers and subs !!! The house looks like the The Who’s bloody recording studio !!! But those Sonus Faber Amatis are wow they say the G5 are an improvement but I heard the G 4 at Peter Tyson in Newcastle a few years ago rigged to a Mcintosh integrated amp with a 30 k Linn LP12 the guy played two songs by Agnes Oble. Riverside was the first one it blew me away I couldn’t get SF out my head since then !

Sorry, I don't do 'sound tests'. You're listening to a microphone in our demo room, compressed on KZbin and played back over your headphones or speakers. That in no way at all relates to what you would experience if you were sat in front of them.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. I think they look like they are straight from the set of Tron. In the right room they'll look awesome. I also like design that properly divides people, love or hate is better than indifference somehow. - John
