Focke Wulf 190 1/48 - Part 4 - Decals and Wash

At the end of this Video the Focke Wulf 190 will have decals and a wash.

I haven't had a problem applying decals on a matt finish. It really depends on the techniques and the look you want to achieve. Nice work again.

I heard a lot that it shouldn‘t be a problem applying decals on matt surfaces, but i always struggeled with silvering decals on matt or semi gloss surfaces. So to avoid that i adapted this short step of gloss coating into my workflow. It also improves and makes a panellinewash easier to apply. Thanks again for you comment Was Rio!!!

I also always gloss varnish. I think I wouldn‘t have to because Mr. Color solvent paint and Leveling Thinner the surface after painting is super smooth. But I varnish with Mr Color GX100, panel line wash and last step i apply decals. Then GX114 super smooth flat coat and oil paints :)

Hello, do you dilute the AK ultra matt varnish? If yes with what and to what ratio? I ah et il but I hard some disapointing résultas with il. Thanks

Salut Pierre! Je dilue le AK ultra matt avec le thinner de Tamiya le x-20a. Et je le spray d'une distance de ca. 30-40cm dans un brouillard et pas directement sur le modèle. Regard le video de la do335 que j'ai faits. Là tu vois comment je mais le varnis matte. J'éspère que tu comprends qu'est-ce que j'ai écrit :)

It's simple no brand masking tape. Is frog tape something very special?

@@AirandGroundinScale No - frog tape is just a green coloured (Frog tape brand) at the equivalent of Home Depot. Thinking maybe I should try some of this type of tape for "mass masking", permitting it doesn't rip paint off!
