The attitude ALS shows in this interview is a big part of his greatness. He is humble about himself but big for the team.

An Achilles rupture is a year off skis. I know, I did my right one in 2011. I was knocked down by another skier during race warm-up. It took till next day to work out that it had ruptured. The first doctor thought I had a thrombosis in my leg and rushed me to hospital. Now, it's better than the other one. You can't rush it. If you do, it will keep breaking and it will never heal. The Achilles tendon is like a thin rope made of horse's tail hairs. I got mine stitched together in Schwatz general hospital nr Innsbruck. In UK they hardly ever operate. They give so called "conservative management". With the op, You end up with a 10 cm scar behind the ankle. It doesn't hurt. It is a general anaesthetic operation and 10 days in hospital with 9 weeks in plaster. Then you need lots of physio. good luck to you if this has happens to you. Don't rush it.

Maybe you should try to speak Norvegian to get a perspective.

@@rebla9366 That Aksels english is perfectly fine, and that the commenter probably can't speak fluent norwegian...
