It's not an unorthodox strategy to fast expand the way Rain did. It's an old strategy and an inconsistently effective strategy in solo. It was more common until Orc players used zeppelins to counter ghoul surrounds for some very fast and one-sided victories. Top Undead FFA players used the same build (and probably still use it if WC3 still has any competitive FFA players left) to fast expand more safely on the maps better crept by ghouls than fiends.

I watched the best of 5 series of Th000 vs JN, the last game was simply the epic game of the week. Fighting and engagement, expansion then more engagement. Its actions all the way till the end!

I love the weird unorthodox old-school-ladder-like games. Watching pros doing the best robot strat for the dear win is so boring. I've done the same back in the days, but with a CL (since there weren't many blademasters around then).

no, because it's very hard to hide the acolytes and if you play vs orc the blademaster pretty much gives the opponent map control so you need to block the expansion, and FAST! so that's why, because you must invest a ton of resources in the expansion right at the start of the game.

It is a good game. But when I saw the UD early expansion and setting bases, I pretty well predict that the UD's gonna lose. It is not because other top UD players never try this way but because it does not work especially you face top ORC players. That is why UD expansion is rare. That's why we barely saw first-rate UD like ted, lucifer,,Fov, these best UD players used this strategy in world-rate competition like WCG because it is such a risk.

Dreadlord is a very good hero for late game but I think dk is preferred because his aura is much more useful with fiends. DL has only one skill for game. Vamp aura gives 15% per level. So 45% dmn to health but armor counters it.

A level 6 TC and BM is just almost impossible to take out with the low level the Undead heroes were. So yeah Orc could simply just walk up and end the game after that last fight
