Not bad for a 45K +/- Focus compared to a 180K+ Porsche GT3 RS! I love my little 2018 RS, my 2013 Shelby GT500 and all the $ I saved. I still have a blast on the autobahn. Great driving!!!!

I see you are in Track mode with the stiff dampers 'on' . Most on the 'Ring are in Sport mode with stiff dampers 'off'. Handling appers to be neutral, I expected to see some oversteer on that setting ?

I found it to be too mushy on the normal suspension setting. The car moved too much under me and I didn't like it. So I always kept in on track setting after I tried it

Its the "Driver Jon" gloves - they add 20 hp!!! Not taking anything away from you Dan, that was a awesome lap (You keep improving each session), but who ever the GT3 driver was, he was either new to the car or new to the track - he should have easily walked away from you, but didn't. Nice vid as always my friend! (& jealous as hell I wasn't there to run w/ya!!).

He had a half decent line, he was just Sunday driving and enjoying the track it seemed. If he was new to the track, he would have let me by. He knew just how fast he had to go to keep me behind him, it was pretty cool.

@143CAR4 жыл бұрын
@@DanielBrown3793 Actually i think if he was new to the track, he's more likely to NOT let you by. Often newer drivers aren't aware of the things going on around them, and I'm assuming if he's newer he's driving somewhat scared, and just trying to focus on what he (or she) is doing.
@DanielBrown37934 жыл бұрын
@@143CAR yeah, definitely that could be as well. With 2 ppl in his car and the way he was driving, felt like he had an instructor with him and he was warming up. He definitely knew I was there and pulled away when he wanted to lol

Any any issues with RS engine? Seems like a lot of RS owners are having engine problems. I like to watch youtubers upgrade and fix there RS instead of just trading them in.

"Seems like a lot of RS owners are having engine problems" - don't be suckered by the RS-haters. I do not know of any RS owners who have had engine problems.

Well I wouldn’t call that keeping up with gt3rs. The moment traffic cleared he disappeared. I also assume he was way more wary of crashing his car.
@brucehep28232 жыл бұрын
"The moment the traffic cleared he disappeared" and then the moment there were some more bends, the Focus RS hauled him in again easily. Great driving! Proves that it's the driver and not the car that makes the difference. My Focus RS is a better car in every way (acceleration, power, road-holding, ride comfort, cornering) to the 911 I used to own.
@TheCrownedLion2 жыл бұрын
@@brucehep2823 Wow, you actually believe that.
@brucehep28232 жыл бұрын
@@TheCrownedLion I don't know what you are referring to - the driver being better than the car, or my RS being better than my 930. I assume the latter. 930 = 220kW, RS=260kW. 930=RWD, RS=4WD; etc. The RS is faster, quicker accelerating, goes round corners MUCH quicker, is far more comfortable, sounds better, has more precise feel, has WAYYYYY better brakes and is altogether a far more thrilling drive. The 930 (911 Turbo) is raw power waiting to maim or kill you if the tail steps out. It had no ABS and didn't even have power steering. Don't get me wrong - I loved that car - but the RS is incomparably superior.
@TheCrownedLion2 жыл бұрын
@@brucehep2823 your comparing a car made less than 5 years ago to a car made around 35-48 years ago lol. If it doesn’t have better acceleration, more power, better brakes (which for each car respectfully they aren’t), power steering and ride comfort then ford should give up making cars. Sound? I love air cooled Porsche engines and mine definitely sounds like a race car. You definitely don’t get more input from a Ford Focus RS than a Porsche 930. It is much more thrilling driving a classic or modern 911 than a Ford Focus RS. Now roadholding and cornering RS should also do better but definitely doesn’t feel that it does. Not to mention a classic 911(930) turbo looks a lot more sexier than a Ford Focus. Ford Focus RS HP 350 FRONT ENGINE Porsche 911 (930) 245 to 282 hp and folks this is with a turbo system from the 1970s literally known for the horrendous turbo lag. REAR (not mid) engine weight is on the tires propelling you through corners, increasing grip with acceleration. I currently own a 1975 Porsche 911S with steel turbo flares and 1980 911 3.0SC engine with 46 PMO carburetors. I have yet to drive a non-mid or rear engine sports car that holds the road through a turn better.
