Great question! In order to get the whole picture of the patient, it is always best to perform a head to toe exam, which includes listening to heart, lungs, abdomen and checking peripheral circulation etc. If you are in nursing school, please check with your professors on how they will "check you off". In practice, it's always best to assess the whole patient to get a picture of their overall status.
