@@donjuantrumpetajohnson Yeah, I watch a lot of movies man. You should click my name :) I love classic movies, I just don't look down on modern ones. There's no problem with clearly conveying subtext to an audience, I don't find it cringey. Films are made for international audiences for people from all backgrounds. You being able to recognize imagery well doesn't mean everyone else is at the same level. It's really not so in your face as to be off-putting and I think it demonstrates a pretty complex emotional state with a couple of simple, universal, visual elements. That's not as easy as you might think. Now I'm sure you could come up with something as fluent, I'm sure I could too, but I don't see any reason to deride others for doing something cleanly, clearly and artistically. Chances are what me and you may find 'not-obvious' is something that would go entirely ignored by most audience members. Who are we to say which is 'better'?

I think the scene where Jason meets Robin is the best scene in the film. It shows the long symbolism between father and son even years after his death. the character is extremely ignorant, selfish and problematic. no actual human should act as childish and dumb. it's okeyish written for a movie and works since he has motivational reasons for actions done in this movie. but every normal human beeing should seek out professional help. when he says "don't talk down on me like that" it shows deeply routed mysagoni aswell as total ignorance for everything the women said before and just shows he insecurities. for real people need to grow up and stop projecting ficitonal characters on real life.

Robin is a buddy to Luke, but he's also sort of a father figure...one Luke never had growing up. Gives Luke a job, a place to stay...even though they barely knew each other...he also planted the seed for Luke to rob, because he knew Luke didn't have a lot of options for providing for Jason...but just the same, turning people on to crime wasn't a good thing, even with the early success, just 'cause you got away with it doesn't mean the next guy will be free and clear of guilt or incarceration. Honestly, I think Robin turned him on to it because he needed the money too...but he was too old to do it alone...didn't have that skill set Luke had, but he knew the game of robbing a bank. He also underestimated how emotional and straight up outlaw Luke was in his heart...a total fiend for action.

5:23-5:29 - He drops the slide forwards so the hammer is cocked back and the gun looks ready to fire, then inserts the magazine but if he pulls that trigger nothing will happen as there is no bullet chambered. I think this was the director showing if it came down to it he didnt want to shoot anyone in the bank, he just wanted it to look like he would. Even with the cop he shot later on only after being shot as he was falling out of a window, which could've just been a reflex to hold onto something as he fell or in self-defence after he was shot while on the phone to say his final goodbye not aiming the gun at the officer which caught him off guard. I just think he was desperate to provide for his family and probably enjoyed the rush of it too - Both the robberies and finally being able to provide for his family. I am not saying what he did was right, i just think it was a clever move by the director to show his true intentions and motivations in such a subtle manner within 6 seconds flat.

You're talking about a dude that used to dance for Disney. That shit is in his nature. Just appreciate the fact he can actually act.
