That’s my favorite dance scene of any Jane Austen movie adaptation ever! Emma and Mr. Knightley are the only two dancers not wearing gloves, which definitely made their dance more intimate. ❤

One thing that frustrates me: why did no one notice that Anya's underdress was rucked up in the back during the first part of this scene? It's distracting. One thing that I applaud: Her front spiral curls are tight and fresh in the beginning, but are looser, having dropped when she's in the carriage, as they would have at the end of an evening of dancing. One thing I don't understand: why it's light out after the dance. Wouldn't the dance have been held in the evening?

Some here say attractiveness is subjective (which it is, to a large extent), but I would go further to point out, that, objectively, both are absolutely gorgeous people, yet in a realistic way. On the contrary from your remark, I would say that if they where the super model kind of beautiful or handsome, THAT would had been very distracting. It would have been more difficult to relate to their, perfectly acted and given, erotic tension...

I think they're gorgeous, and I actually appreciate the fact that they don't look like perfectly manicured models. I prefer to focus on the characters' romantic chemistry and their personalities than to focus on their looks. They can look like models but if they don't have the chemistry, that spark- It all falls flat [at least for me]. Also this Mr. Knightley's smile is just so so cute.
