I am facing issues with getting sound out of the gen 3 for some reason. The driver status says "This device is not working properly" and does not get any sound out. nor from KZbin or DAW or anything for that matter. Apart from direct monitoring. Please help.

i need help with how to have headphones on with it. it has a 1/4 jack it seems. when i bought a splitter that comes down to 1/8 so me and someone else can listen to ourselves on normal or headphones, we couldnt hear ourselves when recording. but we could hear ourselves on playback. help please

I watched several videos on how to set up microphone on focusrite 2i2. I was totally lost. I am a beginner, therefore, I would need step by step instruction with xlr cable and software The video illustrated exactly how I should do it. I just plugged the XLR cable in the audio interface with no problem. Thanks to your explicit instructions, I did it! I stopped and thought, "I have to submit a comment on the video". I believe in giving credit where it is due. Thank you!

hey i bought this same interface, but iam having trouble getting my Shure sm7b with cloudlifter to work on it. the light on the gain knob doesnt turn on when i plug it in. im not sure what the problem is.

I plugged in my ATR2100x - USB using the XLR connection into the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd generation and the microphone is not turning on and the gain levels are not showing. My mic turns on fine with the usb c connection, but it is not turning on with the XLR connection. I followed instructions and the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is connected to my MacBook Air. I have followed these exact directions. Does this mean the Focusrite could be faulty?

Yes, plug in headphones into the box and you can monitor your voice, live as you record (or even before you record).

Can you still activate & register it under your name and have access to the softwares (Ableton Live, Pro-Tools, etc), if you get a used Focusrite unit (2i2 or solo), even the previous owner had already registered it under his/her name and downloaded ALL the software?. thanks for this video! Question, I am not using Adobe audition, just my iMac and focusrite 2i2 3rd gen connected to condenser mic. I can hear only one side, same as to what happened on your video. However since I am not using Adobe Audition I dont know how to change that on my imac so I can hear both channels. Do you know how to adjust that on the Mac ?

A CloudLifter or Fethead would provide almost no benefit with the 3rd gen 2i2 as it has an EIN or Equivalent Input Noise of -128 dB (A Weighted) which at most means a CloudLifter will reduce the noise floor by 2 dB. The Max Gain of the 2i2 3rd gen is 56 dB which should drive most mics, even the historically low sensitivity mics if streaming live. The real issue is the EIN. !

The 2nd Gen came out in mid 2016. It's EIN means it doesn't really need the CloudLifter. The first Gen actually does benefit a lot. !
