I find it funny that when people first discover his work many of them talk about how his songs invoked a sense of nostalgia for something they hadn't experienced or that might not have ever even happened but now, at least for me, they invoke the nostalgia of discovering him for the first time all those years ago and in my opinion he hasn't lost his touch in any way, shape, or form. It may be a little early, but happy anniversary regardless FearOfDark! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the great songs, memories, and experiences you've given us so far, and here's to any you give us in the future as well.

In meadows kissed by zephyrs fair, Where whispers weave through scented air, A flower dances, delicate and free, A spirit born of wind, it be. Behold the windflower, slender and slight, A vision of grace in morning's light. Its petals, pale and ethereal, unfurl, Caressed by breezes that softly swirl. In meadows green, it finds its home, Where gentle zephyrs freely roam, It bends and sways with a graceful flow, A dancer twirling, a rhythmic show. Its hue, a hue of purest white, Like snowflakes falling in moon's soft light. Yet amidst its petals, a hint of gold, A touch of sun, a secret untold. The windflower blooms where no eyes see, In hidden corners, where wild and free. It thrives amidst nature's tender embrace, A symbol of beauty, in a wilder space. Oh, windflower, delicate and rare, Your presence brings solace, beyond compare. You teach us to bend and gracefully sway, To embrace life's winds, come what may. So let us cherish this flower so fine, A reminder of strength that intertwines, With fragility and resilience combined, The windflower, a gift from the divine. Thank you for making such a beautiful song FearofDark

This sounds like the song you would hear walking down a neighborhood street that hasn't seen people in centuries. The remains of houses covered in greenery, and the trees in the front yards are now stories tall with trunks several feet thick. The asphalt street is now more like a loose cobble path, mostly carpeted in moss and ferns that consist of the forest undergrowth. The sky is clear, the sun shines through the leaves, and the breeze in the air is crisp. You're home.

Oh, how long you've been gone, none of the usual faces are around, but you know it was just yesterday that you saw them. You remember sitting with your friends in the park, discussing the end of the world. Would it come in the form of a meteor, an earthquake, a great tidal wave? You never thought the answer would simply be time, a great expansive and unknowable quantity of time. Sure the end may have been spurred on by a hostile actor or some form of natural disaster, something must have caused all the people to disappear. But from your perspective the real villain is time, time is what separates you from your friends and family. And as it seems there is no way to reverse the course of time, so instead you must learn to survive. You must find what tools you can in the dilapidated homes, or craft them with whatever materials are available. Then you might be able to fend off the wild dogs or the hulking beasts with ashen skin. But will you ever defeat time? Can you ever go back to how things were? A vague hope, a grain sized quantity of hope keeps you moving, keeps you wanting to live.

This work really cemented Fearofdark as a truly phenomenal composer to me. The percussive ones are great, and Funknitium is colossally sophisticated in its own way, but the structure of this work is so multilayered and harmonically exploratory without venturing into anything inappropriate, even for a single note, and so binding from beginning to end that it crushes just about everything else as a structural masterpiece. The patterns used, the rubato employed, the descants put to work, the harmonic progressions traveled... all absolutely exquisite. Probably my only complaint is likely an inherent limitation of the software itself, some timbres sounding too close like each other. But wow... That's an incredibly minor detail relative to the gargantuan levels of content found in this magnum opus. I'm truly in awe, humbled, and inspired. 🙇🏻♂️

I CANT believe this is 2 years old already... I haven't been listening to a lot of new fearofdark lately, but I think this stands out as one of his greatest compositions...if not his best. I don't remember the last time fearofdark hit such harshly bittersweet emotions. It almost has a feeling of passing on into the next life as you're aswarm with memories of loved ones and indescribable sights and colors. As we approach the final moments and ultimately say goodbye. The very ending sounds as though the soul has finally been whisked away with the wind. To be inherited by life anew.

The legend returns once more But this is very vibey, feels like the sequel to Dandelion Ride, perhaps the aftermath when the person riding on the flower hitches the ride on another one, and it's a later time of day or something, like late afternoon. Very beautifull But also on another note it really reminds me of Zelda music as well, something Temple-like. Just a gorgeous and calming piece
