So sorry ms.megan😢 its never easy...but just know he got to make so many people happy and he was so happy himself. An inspiration he was with his problems and to not let it stop him. I will miss his high pitch meow and watching him ride around on shoulders. Hes at the Rainbow bridge running playing jumping and free of illness. I’m so sorry but thank you, Megan, for doing what was best for Vernie and not waiting. He looked so skinny last night, I knew it wouldn’t be long. You saved him from having any pain after being so happy at FFRC for so long. He had a wonderful life. He will be missed but he is at peace & healed now. Big hugs.

Since I lost my beloved fur baby two yrs ago I've given this whole pet loss and grief thing a lot of thought. I didn't feel this sad when I lost my parents - devastated, angry, orphaned, YES, but not this deep down sadness. I believe its because I feel I could have done more, I should have stopped him getting ill, I didn't love him enough. I failed him.... I know all the logical responses to these accusations I make of myself but it doesn't help. I will never have another cat, I don't believe I'm worthy, but I get my 'feline fix' by watching FFRC and that helps me get by because I know they do everything that is humanly possible to care for these precious animals. KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING FFRC, and know that you are doing it right ❤

So sorry for the difficult decision you had to make but I understand it was the best for Vernon. Just over a month ago my cat Mr Werther got really sick. I took him to the emergency vet he didn't improve. I had to make the decision to allow him to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I miss him so much but he is no longer in pain. I am sure Vernon is in a wonderful place with his friends. Hugs
