The main theme of this poem is that nature's uncaring attitude towards mankind. He compares cats aloof attitude with nature (Fog) . Nature is also uncaring . It doesn't bend to the will and desires of people. It is uncaring and do what it pleases .

bro took the literal meaning damn anyways, fog represents the problems in life. problems arrive unannounced, just like a cat who walks silent. our problems stay for a while, make our visions blurry, we lose our tracks and feel the coldness that the fog brings in the form of conundrums. the fog pesters us and then silently leaves. they way we believe that the fog will lift eventually and let the warmth of sun rays shine at us again, we shall too believe our problems to take their leave with patience.
