And it just sorta hangs out lol I love the idea of the hazer having a conscious and hanging out at the party, doin its thing

If you need haze on the cheap, you can also use a fog machine and use a fan to spread it. You can use an empty road case or a big box to collect the fog and avoid clouds.

I recently set off a fire alarm in a club that is located inside of a large shopping center. They literally evacuated the entire mall included the movie theater that's in there! DOH

Yeah, and not to mention there are several restaurants and a bowling alley inside of this shopping center that were also evacuated.

Wow, I accidentally caused the evacuation of a club that I was DJ'ing at, and I felt like an @$$, but now I don't feel so bad! Thanks for sharing!

I set one off too at a club. They gave me the ok for fog and that their system was independent and heat based. About 30minutes into the show, alarms and sprinklers went off. They tried to blame me, but I had the emails showing what they claimed and okayed

I also DJ'd for the HRM fireman's ball here in Halifax, NS Canada and the hotel still wouldn't let me use fog or haze with the fire marshal and 200 firemen at the venue. So check the rules before you assume anything.
@seansy5912 жыл бұрын
I put water into the fog juice. Basically the fog machine just steams the water or fog juice. Watered down fog juice make the fog lighter (better for light shows) and does not set off alarms as easily because it is more water vapor. Downside is you have to put more out every now an then. But your actually saving juice.
@djkase115 жыл бұрын
I have that same hazer, but have only used it a few times due to venue restrictions. I used it continuously at a school gym once and not a peep from the fire alarm.
@Zapped3813 жыл бұрын
Couldn't you attach a relly long PVC pipe to the nozzle of a fogger, split the end in 2 so it would lessen the blast. I would only have the button on for a second or 2 but wouldn't that reduce setting off the alarms also?
@MrFunky5513 жыл бұрын
I personaly over time have shifted away from using oil based hazers to water based fazers. The oil collects on your lights and whatever equipment you are using. The Haze Generator is a great hazer. It is just really hard on your lights. I suggest going water based.
@vampstriss15 жыл бұрын
depends on the room size the air flow etc..... if its a big venue i use fog but high up near the ceiling and then i use my haze generator to maintain.... i dont believe in fogging to the point of killing the lights. so good vid.... more clubs need to quit killing us in a storm of fog lol.... practice n enjoy
@briansredd15 жыл бұрын
An Oil based haze machine, according to Dan, is more likely to set off an alarm, but less oil based haze is nessessary which helps.
@landonairey12 жыл бұрын
One question for you. I want to invest in one of these but I'm concerned about its affect on the temperature in a room. Do haze generators make a room hotter?
@positive_error51417 жыл бұрын
Can you get a hazer that doesn't sound like a lawn mower running? That hazer sounded way too loud.
@djbis5 жыл бұрын
Once you get the music going, and with it sitting way in the back, you don't really hear it. The effect is worth the noise IMO.

Here's a little "Oil Based vs. Water Based" perspective from a veteran painters expeience... I am about to buy a water based hazer, more than likely a Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2, due to the research I done and Co$t, however, regardless of brands you choose, much like 'spraying' oil base vs. water base paints, oil base DOES NOT MIX IN with your respirtory system, therefore, making it easier to 'yak' or cough up, and water base just lingers in your system for as long as it takes to run it's course!
@rockdrummer122615 жыл бұрын
what do you use? fogger or hazer? who is it made by? and the name plz. i need to up grade mine and i want something that isnt going to set off fire alarm. and is kind of quiet even tho it doesnt need to be dead silent. i will always be playing music. but anyway let me know thanks
@sneakyleaf1214 жыл бұрын
well if breathing the oil-based fluid is a concern...my rule of thumb would be to use water based at indoor venues, and oil at outdoor ones. besides if oil does hang around more, it would be all the benefit of contending with outside conditions.
@Xlaser15 жыл бұрын
An oil based haze machine is SLIGHTLY more likely to set off certain types of fire alarms because of the nature of the fluid. However, one usually needs to use much more water based haze to get the same effect thereby increasing the PPM and making it more likely to set off other types of alarms. Just use as little as possible and you will be fine is the bottom line.

I think to buy haze machine with water based fluid. I think is better to use in my appartement.what do you think?🤔

I live in a block building, so maybe I think that a fog machine/hazer is better than a smoke machine? a little afraid wh my neighbors will thinking its burning in my appartment if i open the door and they calling the fire service😬🤔

Use an external flash on the top of the camera and point it straight up, as if you were bouncing the flash off the ceiling. That will help avoid lighting the haze directly in front of the camera lens. The picture will still be a bit washed out looking though, so in photoshop go to Levels and move the left hand (and/or middle) sliders to the right. Works pretty well.
@danquay95045 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing this information..basically just check with the venue there policy, what it boils down to knowledge of what you can get away with or not and discussing about the whole thing to the vendor and party planner and hotel or venue manager as certainly feel better for discussing this with people

I have been looking into whether to get a fogger or hazer for a while now and I've come across, what they market as a fogger. Although it has 2 DMX channels, 1 for density the other for output. i presume if i was to turn the density right down, this would produce the same effect as a hazer and thus not trigger any fire alarms?

Yes, the ADJ will fill a 5,000 square foot room. it will just take a little longer. 10K? You would want a couple hazers in that room no matter what kind. And BTW, that particular one is the NOISIEST hazer I own. Most of my ADJ's are much quieter and that one was also sitting on something hollow with two of its feet missing.

I was wondering where the best place to place a hazer is. I have that same hazer that I borrowed for a house party and have laser lights and some moonbeam lights. Does the hazer need to be on the floor or up high where the lights are?
@colinnutley642810 жыл бұрын
Can somebody please tell me what oil is used in the mixture for a haze machine? As pointed out on the video, hydrocarbons are present in the output. From a health aspect, I've always tended to stick with certain fluids that have a good 'suspend' rate, but what is in the fluids ofva haze machine?
@MrZoddiak11 жыл бұрын
Very interesting and good to know. I use a hazer and love it; have it programed via dmx to run various intervals depending on the venue. Most often its 2 secs on, 30 off. It seems to give me a perfect level of haze for my lights. One potential issue no one has mentioned that I have considered has to do with photographers and flashes. Anyone had any issue with this? I fear a hazer, while making my lights looks amazing, will make any photos look horrible. Flashes seem to light up the haze.

Why is the haze machine so loud?
@Xlaser15 жыл бұрын
Not much more prone... it all depends on how you use it and how the building is wired. Even worst case for the building, used properly setting off alarms is very unlikely.... for us 2 times in 3000 shows. I love the Radiance, I do. But I like oil based better in general and it is worth mentioning that oil hazers use a FRACTION of the fluid of water based ones. LaMaitre makes a great product but you can get 2.5 ADJ hazers for the price of one Radiance...

@cableaddict Well, your breathing in an extremely miniscule amount, since the particle sizes are so eztremely small. It probably takes up a tablespoon to fill up a whole room 5 times the size of a garage, so I don't think It'll have a large impact on your health..

@VixCrush7 жыл бұрын
It is not impossible. You have to be creative and try to limit your set size for one thing. Another thing is use need to shape your fog using maybe a chill box or something. Slanted Edge has a good video on doing that in a pool, If a movie has enough money at their disposal, They can figure it out. Maybe even involve a green screen.
@MikeOzmun3 жыл бұрын
Use a smoke machine instead. That's what they would do on a feature film set for outdoor atmosphere.

Emitting oil into the air doesn't sound to wonderful to me. You're breathing that in and it seems like it would leave a residue. Also do these hazers damage laptops, turntables, amplifiers with intake fans, speakers, lighting and other electronics?
