Our tour through the northern half of Portugal takes us this time to Guarda, which welcomes us with a thick fog that, although it does not prevent us from visiting, means that we cannot enjoy this beautiful city as much as we would like. In Guarda we begin the visit to the remains of the castle, crowned by the Torre del Homenaje, and then go to the porticoed Luis de Camoes square where the Cathedral is located. From the Plaza we enter further into the walled historic center, walking through the streets of the Jewish quarter, before ending the visit due to the worsening weather. The next day we visited Sabugal, little known but of great historical importance due to its proximity to the Spanish border. In addition to its castle, magnificently preserved, and in which the pentagonal Torre del Homenaje stands out, walking through the streets of its historic center will make you lose track of time, transporting you to the Middle Ages, before ending the visit at the Museum, where discover its history from prehistory to the present day.
