Loved your video! I looked for some instructional videos on foggy mountain breakdown a few years ago and only found one. Thankyou for posting your video and playing the 4 different versions.

Like your channel. I’m a multi instrument player, but the fiddle just never clicked with me.EDIT: there’s a version from 1948 from Flatts and Scruggs floating around KZbin.

Thanks Chris! I have never seriously thought about picking up a viola, and l laughed at the humorous humility you have in this video, and now I may just steal the kid’s to see if l can make her eyes roll right out of her head! Just kidding, I liked the first version , you made it seem less than impossible to learn for most, and it became clear I don’t know diddly about the fiddle the further I got, I see I should probably start with ‘Mary had a Little Lamb “ first😁

Hi Jerry. There's nothing wrong with Mary had a little Lamb!

Thank you! This is a clsssic for sure. Bill Monroe wrote Bluegrass Breakdown with only the F chord instead of the Em. Earl kind of nicked that tune from Bill seems like. Also, I wish all you had to do was learn a tune and then play it fast. Unfortunately, seems like you have to also learn it fast. Maybe that’s obvious, I just wish it were easier. Thanks again!

Remember that Earl wrote bluegrass breakdown and Bill didn’t give him credit, so Earl technically didn’t steal it. He just re-arranged it.

@@jackvalentine566 Thanks for the clarification. Shouldn’t have assumed Bill wrote it. I sit corrected. 🙂

how much would a a decent fiddle cost
@TheFiddleChannel Жыл бұрын
Anything from £150, for a new Chinese one, to tens of thousands. It depends what you call decent.
