R.I.P. Craig MacGregor who passed away yesterday from a long battle with cancer. Dave passed 18 years ago and Rod about 10 years ago. I knew all these guys personally and I can tell you they were the nicest most professional musicians I have ever met. They should have been as big or bigger than any of the monster bands from the 70's and 80's. These are 4 of the greatest musicians to ever play. See you guys on the other side.

You cannot do a classic rock compilation album without this song. THIS IS CLASSIC ROCK! At its finest. This song was playing in the background of EVERY SINGLE party i attended in the late 70's. Every doobie that was rolled and every kegger drained this song was blaring in the back ground. WHEN ROCK WAS ROCK

1978, I was 14, enjoying fine herb with a Foghat 8-Track playing this song, in a boat named "Slo-Ride" on Lake Texhoma. We went skiing while the folks went fishing. Then we had a giant fish fry with freshly caught striper and the most wonderful cornmeal batter...a big vat of oil on a tripod in front of the lakehouse with 20+ people as the sun slowly set. I can still feel the sunburn on my skin, sand in my cutoff Levi's and the smell of coconut oil on every beautiful female there. Those hot curls of fresh fish...still the benchmark I judge all fish by even today, some 45 years later. Yeah, I had some great summers growing up.

I remember rolling up some gold and ty stck with a case of miller ponies and listening to Foghat, Montrose, Molly hatchet, all of them were great.. Those were the days baby.Much simpler, sofisticated and people helped eachother. I feel bad for kids growing up taday that will never know that type of world...

I just bought the first 13 albums on CD. $46 on Amazon. Oh, those memories are flooding back. I reconnected with an old acquaintance of mine from 1972-78 who used to listen to Foghat with me. Who says Rock 'n Roll is a bad thing?

Damn, those boys rocked IT. Saw them in Chicago, November of 1975 with Montrose and Black Oak Arkansas. Still sounds great.

A simple single chord riff drives this song with perfect sound. Only rock masters could pull that off.

Attended a concert at the Greenville memorial auditorium with the Little River Band opening for Foghat. 1978. Only a hundred or so showed up. I was to close for the feedback for sure. My ears still ring. I chucked a handful of 714's, a couple of concert sized legs of Colombian gold to both bands . The band wanted to know where everyone was . Then said tell them what they missed and played until midnight almost! The masters of feedback!

I saw Lonesome Dave with a Christian band in about 1983. A few years after that, my band opened for Foghar in Dallas for a great show. Dave was still alive then and this singer was still with them. Keep rocking, Foghat. Thanks for the memories.

This band was king back in my HS days, 74-76! And still is a main band in my playlist.
