I learned this tune from old man Leake Caudill who lived in Richmond Courthouse, NC. He was a wiry bachelor who played around the county and always at the old Union Grove festival and at Galax in the 60's. Richmod courthouse was not an existing place, just a crossroads in the country that people had named Richmond Courthouse. This band plays it very well!

Nothing at all especially when it is Nadine Landry, great musician, lovely lady. Filming during live performance in a smallish packed venue rather diminishes one's freedom to move around to get the ideal angle. I was seated close up and the camera lens is only so wide. So I had to compromise. If I had a choice I would have appreciated more space and more lighting on the performers. Nadine and the rest of the group were OK with the results of my efforts and were happy enough for me to post them here. I hope you enjoyed her contribution to "Doney".

I could hear some of the melody of 'Cherokee Shuffle' in there - are they different versions of the same tune?😉
@Evlogite19 Жыл бұрын
Different tunes, just a similar melody. “Billy in the Low Ground” also has a very similar melody.

Packed club, no room to manoeuvre and too close to be able to get everyone in frame. However the lovely Nadine is included more in otherclips which I posted. See "Doney" for example. The poor lighting didn't help either but it's the quality of the music that matters.
