It's a great kit. The Egyptian army box for Fate of a nation is a great way to pick up a bunch for a good price

I am impressed with how good this kit looks. With the turret stand off armor it would work for the Afghanistan period. Thanks for sharing this review and the tank footage was great.

Now I need to build one without the add-on armour.

the "brow" appliqué armour was also sometimes known as Dolly Parton. for.... obvious reasons (stressing the plural) xp

I may be wrong, but wasn't that used with the T-72B? Because the turret "cheeks" were much bigger than on the earlier T-72s?

“Dolly Parton” was used for the T-72 cheek composite armour inserts which gave the front of the turret distinctive and suggestive “bulges”. The armour was a cavity with rows of metal plates separated by air gaps. The transition between material densities and dispersion of HEAT gasses in the gaps increased protection.

I do wish they would include some decals (or sell decal packs for each nation), but the big negative is that huge clear plastic blister that is hard to recycle in the UK. I just don't understand why they don't sell these in a cardboard box. Instructions could be better, and the battlefront website to find instructions online is not very well set out.

Lack of decals and commanders is how they keep the price down for this range. I usually have spare Team Yankee or Flames of War stuff around, but if you don’t have that I guess it would be an issue.

I assume the blister packs were a conscious marketing choice. The game is intended for the xwing wargame-lite market who are accustomed to the packaging and is an extremely durable design for retail hanging.

Blister packaging is a logical choice for low volume items. You can use the same package for many products and you don't need to provide box art because customers can clearly see what's in the box. In theory at least.

I have never seen a single battle report with any T-62Ms, ever.

Yes. Not anyone's first choice, I think. Lots of other options. I have seen a lot of T-55s, however. :-)

I think fielding a T-62 formation gives you a good punch for less points.

That’s the whole swarm vs quality argument right there.
