Excellent review, but 2yr later the 421 stab is replace by the 399. Do you recommend this stab the 695 frontwing? There’s also a kit with a 699/399 sold as freeride/freestyle foil. Do you think the 699 will be fun to freeride and jump as good as 695?

Thanks for the excellent review. For the rear stab, will the 430 fit the 647 fuselage?

Hi. About the 695 from Moses kite range suiting heavier people, do think the 718 might be even better for the heavier person as given it’s about the surface area as the 695 and a thicker cross section, it’s volume will be greater. What do you think?

Hey Gunnar. Another great vid/review. Thank you. Wonder if you might comment on the 695 vs 670. I'm pretty light at 75kg. Which of those do you think is better suited to big air (10m 'ish)? Thanks again.

Thanks a lot Gunnar for your reviews, very, very apreciated. I own a W679 s483 that is my normal setup. I foil between 8 and 12 knots with OR Roam 10 m or Soul 12 M (when wind goes down), 90 cm mast, and 1.40 board. I am 73 kg. I also owin a w550 but I dont like it, I am looking for a new wing smaller than the W679 for days with more than 10 knots, a bit faster, but not as small as w590. Need some advice, thinking in w695, or w740 or w800 or RDD 730 (compatible). Which one do you suggest? I don't race, but freeride, and sometimes I also jump.
@GunnarBiniasch

Hi JJ. If you want speed and good jumping the 740 is probably the one you want to look into getting.

Hi Gunnar, I've been focussing trying to place more effort into duck tack manoevers using both the 695 and 633 setups and with different kites. Exact body weight as you. To nail this move more quickly do you think it's better to keep using one setup to avoid the adjusting back and forth? And which setup (633/483 vs 695/330) is your suggestion for leaning tacks? Regards.

I've been loving the 633 and thought I'd like the 550 for the windier days but when it got windier and I tried it out I felt the 550 couldn't give me the lift I was used to so I really struggled. Thanks for the review, you tipped me over the edge as a heavier rider (96kg) I'm going to try and swap my 550. What's the board you're riding? Also what size hydrofoil/wing/board combo do you recommend for someone who wants to try wing foiling in 13-15 kts. Have you tried any of the naish setups?
@GunnarBiniasch
@GunnarBiniasch 4 жыл бұрын
I have not tried the new N25 Naish wings so cannot comment. Here are a few pointers. Wing stiffness is key for lowend. So for your range only the Ozone WaspV1 or F-One Swing will do. At your weight you want the biggest possible (Volume and Surface Area of the Foil) wing on your foil . Something with over 2000cm2 or 3liters Volume. For the board I recommend you learn on something big, like a 130L or more, unless you have good SUP experience and can balance on a smaller board in wind.

Hey Gunnar, I have a flat board (138 cm long) with very little nose rocker. When I ride it on the 633 or 683 it feels like the nose is pointing down! Is there and shimming that can be done to raise the nose except for putting a wedge between board and mast? The wedge adds a ton of resistance during touch downs. Cheers 🥂!

Hi Gunnar, thank you very much for reviewing the 695. I bought it a few weeks ago and use it with the 330 stabiliser alternating between this and 633/483 or 558/330 depending on the conditions. Two questions please. 1. You said surface area is 650 sq cm however Moses website says it's 770 sq cm, what is correct? 2. Can you elaborate on comparison of the foil using a 330 vs 421 stabiliser? As I am thinking of buying the 421 too depending on your description as I can use it with either the 695 or 558. And perhaps I'll add the 718 wing to the quicker as well. Regards.
@GunnarBiniasch
@GunnarBiniasch 4 жыл бұрын
Hi; Sorry about the Mixup. 770cm2 is the correct surface area. Regarding the 421 v2 330. The 421 gives the 695 more top and speed and acceleration. It has less front foot pressure than the 330 if on the same board position. I also find that the 421 is easier to foil out of a landing with. The 330 keeps the air bubbles longer and takes more effort to pump it off.

@@AvengerIl Hi. Since this thread I’ve put some time on various combinations. Here are my opinions and I can elaborate more when I see you on the beach! Yes to your question. I currently use 633/483, 718/421 and 670/421 now all on 101cm mast. I sold the 695 and 330 now. Haven’t used your front wing though. 695 gives a similar feeling to 633 and an option if you only have the kite fuselage. Compared to 718, 695 is looser, less fast, less stable and needs a touch more speed to fly. I didn’t like it with the 330 stabilizer and thought it better with the 421 for stability and predictability. 718/421 is fantastic glider, fast, acceleration is good and probably will start flying at about the same time as your wing. Roll, pitch and yaw very stable but can feel stiff when cranking it over for a turn or a fast gybe. It likes a more drawn out carve. Its speed is about the same as the race 670 wing for a person of my intermediate level. The 670 is slightly faster and easier to crank into a turn. About the same pitch, roll and yaw stability but needs a touch more speed to fly. Actually to me the 695 and 670 have a close take off speed. Highly recommend the 718/421 is amazing. Your other option is to try the 720 on your surf fuselage. But I haven’t tried this configuration. Or go full race 670 it’s not much harder really for someone like you. Hope this helps. Gunnar is the professional though and would listen to him over me for sure if he chimes in.

@@irf888 Wow! Awesome bit of info.. I'll digest it a little.. I wanted someone to tell me 718 is good.. This is more than I had hoped for... Would you say tacking or learning to tack, be easier on 633/683 or 718? I heard someone mention might be easier on 718.. that would make me run out to the stores right now... since Tacking is a must in my next step.. But yes, I dont really want to go full race, which i believe 670 is for, but I do want top upwind preformance.. already when I can pick the right kite and be powered up enough im doing 42degrees off into the wind. Which makes it possible to go anywhere... ah, 718.. how many more degrees into wind? or VMG compared to 633/683? Thanks again... way too excited to get your feedback

Hi Gunnar! How much slower is it than the Moses racewing? I am looking for a easy to ride race/freerace wingset. Thinking this or the 718 could be quite good? What do I gain with that compared to the 421 stabiliser race setup?

Nice video...I learn now with pace duotone and an entry freeride wing. But my next one will be 695 from moses with 425 or 421 stab. Is there any faster moses wing than this for 10 to 20 knots and 88 kg rider? Or i have to take 695 front with other stab wing? Also which board you recommend?

You can make pretty much any Moses stabilizer work with any front wing. Differences in lift will mean you have to slide your mast forward or back to stay balanced. But they all can work together.

@@jyetley The 695 is based off of the 550. Basically its is a stretched 550. It has the same Profiles and thickness and general shape. The 590 has a totally different outline and curve to it and has a Gulwing curve to it whereas the 550 and 695 are have only a slight anhedral curve. The 695 has more lowend then the 590as its bigger and has more span and is a higher aspect ratio. The 550 is more sporty and agressive than the 590. The 590 sort of sits in the middle of the 550 and 695 in regards to performance.

Front foot pressure on this wing is the same as the other Moses Kitefoils. If you use it with the 421 Race stabiliser it is amazing for jumping. You should also have a look at the w800. That has more speed performance and is a great jumper
