Folding wood framed kayaks - what's so great?

Interview with Olivier Le Moigne, CEO of French folding boat manufacturer Nautiraid on his reasons for partnering with Paddling the Margins, his hopes for the project and the qualities of folding wood framed sea kayaks!

Non, il n'est jamais trop tard ! Cela fait 40 ans que j'ai un kayak Chauveau-Nautiraid, et il est toujours vivant. Le constructeur assure l'entretien/réparation - même des anciens modèles - du caoutchouc vieillissant, mais la peau (hypalon) et les bois sont increvables ! Après la France, l’Écosse et le Canada, il a dormi enfermé et rangé dans ses sacs pendant plusieurs années, et récemment j'ai retrouvé avec plaisir mon biplace sur l'eau des rivières ... en attendant les bords de mer. No, it's never too late ! I've had a Chauveau-Nautiraid kayak for 40 years, and it's still going strong. The manufacturer ensures maintenance/repair - even of old models - of aging rubber, but the skin (hypalon) and wood are indestructible ! After France, Scotland and Canada, it slept locked up and stored away in its bags for several years, and recently I was happy to find my two-seater on the water of the rivers... while waiting for the seaside.
