Thank god I'm not the only one thought Donnie would have been SUCH a good ending for Folie.

I love West Coast Smoker too, but I think I have to agree. Also, I kinda wish WCS had been the single, since Donnie seems more like an interlude...

Idk if it’s possible to heal your inner teenager while still being a teenager, but if it is, that’s what this vid is doing for me. Love this 💕

I began watching this assuming you had thousands of views because it's so well done! I was so surprised that I'm so early. I listened to this album so so many times, and I have never caught the themes and motifs you have pointed out. What an exceptionally well done analysis! Thank you for this video!

i fell down a folie a deux rabbit hole again a few nights ago and thus found this which combines both my love for the album as well as video essays. However it took me a bit to finish this due to having other things but it made me think about the topic discussed which honestly made me agree even more, this is beautifully done and i wanted to thank you for the sheer amount of content as well as information you have given. Still even if i knew it was my favourite fall out boy album your thoughts helped put into words what i feel about it, so that´s pretty cool i think. In addition to that your thoughts are very organized and i liked listening to you , very well done tldr this was very informative and i loved watching it thank you

i feel like West Coast Smoker was a wonderful closing song but i do agree that What a Catch, Donnie would’ve also been a great song to close with

Amazing video! I love hearing other's analyses of all FOB albums, but this album specifically I love to hear other's takes on because I feel like every time I go back to it I often have a different insight on the lyrics, or they might just have a different meaning for me and where I'm at in my life when I revisit. Such an amazing album, and I love the facts about the band and the press at the time that you brought up, it really makes a difference knowing the headspace of the band while they're working on an album. w.a.m.s. is also one of my favorite songs probably of all time and I had no fucking idea that Pharrell had a part to play in the production of it! That man is EVERYEWHERE!!! This is my first video I'm watching of yours and I'm honestly not even finished with it while writing this, even five minutes in though, I could tell this was gonna be a good watch. Keep it up, I'll definitely be watching more of your work when I finish this masterpiece

I agree with pretty much everything you said in your analysis omg. 27 is my absolute favorite song and What a Catch should ABSOLUTELY have been the last track on the album. I've been saying that for years

I agree, as this is my favorite FOB album of all time... What A Catch Donnie should've definitely been the last song. Especially with all of the call backs to their old material for previous projects.

The oddball album that nobody understood at the time ❤ Even as a huge fallout boy fan (since evening out with your girlfriend days) I wasn’t big on this album at first. However years later I fell in love with it.

Personally, I feel like Folie having a true "finale" song...and then keeps on going, makes it feel more...intentional that it ends on West Coast Smoker. I have no idea what that intentionality says about the album as a whole, but I do know that it was probably not a mistake that West Coast Smoker is the album's finale instead of Donnie

The video is amazing! The only thing is that to me, it doesn't feel good that you're reading directly from a script (or at least it feels like that to me), it feels a bit weird although the writing is great

Folie is my favorite FOB album by far and I haven't liked any of their albums since. Stardust is really growing on me and I just recently read that it is the first time they have brought back the same producer they used for FAD and IOH. I was curious to know if you have a similar analysis of Mania, since you actually like that album. I think it is their worst ever, but since your analysis of this was soo amazing and enlightening I was wondering if that might help me appreciate Mania a bit more. Also, I always thought W.A.M.S. stood for "Wet and messy sex".
